In Gee's getting a lot of love this week. Here's another new video about her win in 2016. Good luck, In Gee!

All the Evian winners deserve a major championship. All the British Open winners are major champions. Judy is a major champion.

Nat Nat and Ai-chan are Major champions? Yes, back in the day when the Evian Masters was superior to the Amundi Evian Championship.

They are up to version Four of the caddie list ... Inky left TMac at home and is going with Euro vet Axel Bettan ... Getty has pics of him with with Yu Liu at Weetabix and Aberdeen in 2020 ... he also worked the Evian Masters in 2008 for Sophie Giguel.

It's about 9:55 PM in Japan and Furue, Saigo, NASA, Shibuno Fever and Saso are playing their first nine holes ... TV ratings must be through the roof.

Round 1 As usual, they set the Evian up too easy and players are taking advantage. I'm dreading the inevitable 61s (and lowers?) we might see later in the week. But for now, the scores weren't too dreadfully low. A lot of good results for the Sisters, particularly in the morning. Jin Young and In Gee had their first action since the KPMG. I wondered what we would see from Jin Young, but based on what they showed of her, she's looking good. Her irons and putting were especially good. Her 66 (-5) puts her on the leaderboard, four ahead of Minjee and two behind Nelly. In Gee seemed relaxed, which was good to see: no obvious nerves as she attempts to build on her win. 67 for her. Big shock that the other top three golfers from 2016, Sung Hyun Park and So Yeon Ryu, also shot 67s. I'm not sure which is the bigger surprise, but I'm glad to see So Yeon again on the broadcast. Eun Hee also produced a 67, and so did Min Ji Park. I'm rooting hard for Min Ji to have a good showing this week; she's the biggest star the Western press haven't discovered yet. Nice 68s for Hyo Joo and Sei Young. Downsides: Inbee as usual well back, but Six and Hye Jin also didn't do much today. All of them were in the afternoon, so I wonder if the conditions were more challenging then? Looks like putting was the weakness for Hye Jin (32) and Six (34). OK, so they'll just have to go low tomorrow, right? Sisters hwaiting!

Good first round by So Yeon Ryu bogeys on one and two, after that six birdies.
Min Ji Park also had a minus four six birdies two bogeys a good first round.

Good first round by So Yeon Ryu bogeys on one and two, after that six birdies. Min Ji Park also had a minus four six birdies two bogeys a good first round. In looking at Strokes Gained So Yeon is about tour average in every category. For the pros it seems like it would be easier to have a good week in something they do poorly than to have a great week in something they do average. Is she a little bit trapped with an all-around good but not great game?

One thing that's consistent with her is she has too many birdies cancelled by bogeys.

Six forgot to cover her six ... it'll have to wait until next year.

Really great front nine for So Yeon with six birdies no bogeys. She stumbled a little with one bogey no birdies back nine. Still minus five is great for her no matter how she got it.
Not a good day for Jin Young Ko of minus two. Still a good finish, after dropping to minus four after fourteen holes. She didn't drop her head, finished with birdie on three of the last four holes.
Hyo Joo Kim had a balanced round three birdies front nine three birdies back. One bogey.
Sei Young Kim had a clean score card with six birdies, birdied the last four holes.
Min Ji Park had a decent round three birdies one bogey.
A shoutout to Jenny Shin after plus two first round, a minus five second round.
On the other end Sung Hyun Park three birdies but a bogey and four double bogeys
Jeong Jeongeun Lee6 one birdie four bogeys a triple and a double bogey. If she is serious she needs to stop skipping Tournaments and also get to the driving range.
