I replaced the clip from Fox. Sorry about that. I only posted Trump because it was such a fail. His racist innuendo totally fell flat. For whatever reason that crowd doesn't have a problem with Koreans. Sunset Boulevard is a great film, but I'm guessing most of his audience has never heard of it or seen it. It's a weird choice for him to mention (and besides that, it didn't win the Best Picture Oscar, either!). Yeah, a fail all around... |

Last night, Parasite won the Best Foreign Film Award at the Cesars, the French Motion Picture Awards. They produced a cute acceptance video which was shown at the ceremony:

Parasite Smashes Records on HuluSummary: in just one week, Parasite has become the second most downloaded film in total downloads among all the films still on the service, and the most downloaded among foreign or indie films. "What that means is that in one week “Parasite” out-streamed the lifetimes of popular titles such as “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,” “A Quiet Place,” “Transformers: The Last Knight,” and “Creed II,” all of which have been available to stream on Hulu for several months." Some big news for Parasite!
13 artists associated with Parasite have been offered membership in the Academy! Included in that group are stars Park So Dam, Cho Yeo Jeong, Jang Hye Jin and Choi Woo Shik, as well as producer Shin Ae Kwak, screenwriter Jin Won Han and music director Jae Il Jung. Actor Song Kang Ho and Director Bong Joon Ho were already members.
Also named in this latest batch were Awkwafina and director Lulu Wang of The Farewell, and Constance Wu from Crazy Rich Asians.

CHOI (Woo-Shik), "Parasite co-star" was a clue on last weeks NYT crossword. Surprised me a little as he's pretty far down the billing. This movie is probably bigger than I realize.

Apparently Sharon Choi has her own talk show now. In this clip, she speaks with Sandra Oh about Bong Joon Ho's demeanor on stage winning the Academy Award. The full 37-minute interview is posted on the channel.

(PS - I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but the interviewer's t-shirt says 'Bong Joon Ho', who of course is the director of Parasite.
