Anthony I predict your next news grab bag will have a 2 page analysis of the TW & Vonn break-up. My prediction....TW will go back to his shagging ways and start winning again in bunches....lol.

I generally don't comment on the personal lives of golfers. Unless something big happens between now and Friday, my next Grab-Bag will be all about Calvin Peete and Pete Brown.

centurion: What, you don't want to be the next Stephanie Wei?! Of course, she carried the news of TW & Vonn, and there was an excellent suggestion in the comments: if she hooks up with TW, she'll get her PGA Tour media credentials back! Here's her driver swing from 2013...I love how she drives her right hip through the ball: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJvj2Q20I1s

I'm glad I got to follow Brown and Peete at some tournaments. It is an absolute joke that Calvin Peete isn't in the hall of fame. If they have room for Hubert Green then Calvin should be in.

Anthony Kim was my favorite golfer before he imploded. I know he had personal problems and injuries but it is a shame he took the money and ran. Money, even if it is $20,000,000 is the root of all evil.

Anthony Thx for the read...I knew nothing about this book....but no....... I'm not going to read it unless it's at the library or I find it at a garage sale or flea market for $2, as I found Xtina's book. But I should read it cause Shane slammed Bubba the Clown...the book must be accurate. Holy Moly.....either Paige had 20 cups of coffee or Shane falsely wrote that her Dad is a wife beater, etc. Paige is normally too giggly on GC...I've never seen her so jacked up....she looked like she'd punch Shane in the face if he was in the studio...she also looked like she was about to cry in anger. I like Paige....but she is not a natural on TV...her voice still shows nervousness and she sometimes fumbles her words.....BRING BACK HOLLY and Stephanie Sparks. The early morning wake up calls are taking its toll on Paige...she's quite young to have bags under her eyes. Controversy sells...Shane's got that part right ...Enquiring minds want to know.....he also put Tiger in the title to sell books....I don't think the book evolves around TW.

I would re-read these two golf books, but good luck finding them today:
'Pro' by Frank Beard (1970) - Frank Beard's diary of the 1969 PGA Tour season...the timing of the book was perfect, as he was the 1969 money list leader. The one section I remember was Beard saying Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Julius Boros, and Gene Littler were sort of like tour 'royalty'...they were on a different level from everyone else in terms of how they played and traveled the tour. I think he also said Nicklaus was little washed up. Oops! He later wrote a book that covered one of his seasons on the Senior tour, but I haven't read it.
'Teed Off' by Dave Hill (1977) - He was crazyyyyy! Aside from his numerous battles with the PGA Tour, he also dishes out some caustic opinions on the USGA, the PGA of America, caddies, and golf equipment. I think he also agreed with Jane Blalock suing the LPGA Tour regarding her suspension for cheating.
