I hate it when they shorten names. Not that hard to pronounce names. On one tournament, I recall the announcer calling Na Yeon Choi, N Y Choi. I just hated it.

They've been trying to push "NYC" a lot lately. I agree with you, though. I understand it with Inky, but MJ Hur went by Mi Jung for several years before shortening it. There was no need.

I'm guessing that 'Q Baek' is a name Kyu Jung chose for herself. More power to her if she wants a name that will make her more memorable to American fans. And Na Yeon has embraced NYC as her nickname, so I'm cool with that, too.
