Anthony: Why no discussion about the Valspar.....definitely one of the better and exciting finished to a PGA event last week. Innsbrook/Snake Pit really showed it's teeth last week.
I like Spieth's moxy......he was spewing oil coming home but make some amazing up and downs and clutch putting. I don't care for Reed...but the guy has grit

The Golf Digest cover was, uh, questionable, but at least they put an LPGA golfer on there instead of somebody's wife (the idea of Golf Digest trying to be an 'edgy' magazine is downright hilarious. IMO Leave that stuff to Maxim).
What annoyed me a little, though, was checking out their site. The article/portfolio actually features four golfers. Michelle Wie (because of course), Thompson, Lewis and Cheyenne Woods. Four Americans. Not even a European, let alone an Asian.
They also have an instagram collection of pics. I think there are like 41 pics in there. Not a single one of a Korean golfer (although Ko appears in a few and there are a few Korean Americans other than Wie).
You really have to go out of your way to do a profile on the LPGA and completely exclude the Koreans in this day and age. Sheesh.

Golf Digest is doing it independent of the LPGA. I understand it a little bit more in that sense. They want to show off golfers that are easily recognizable to their readership. So Yeon Ryu isn't going to be recognizable to most American fans and, hate to say it, but Inbee isn't the most photogenic player on Tour. The LPGA has to market all of their players because if certain players are going to be contending all the time, they are going to be the ones seen constantly. Golf Digest only needs to sell their magazines - they have no obligation to marketing certain players.
I guess the flip side would be, how often has an American golfer been featured in Golf Digest Korea?

I guess the flip side would be, how often has an American golfer been featured in Golf Digest Korea? Well, if American golfers were winning at the same clip on the KLPGA as the Koreans do on the LPGA, I guess I'd call 'baloney' on Golf Digest Korea if it didn't feature some of them in the magazine! Anyway, the Korean version of the magazine splits its coverage between Korean stars and the content from the American version, so probably the Thompson stuff from this latest issue will find its way into the Korean edition. Meanwhile, I can't recall a time that an article from the Korean edition wound up in the American version...
