SY Ryu will defend her title starting Thursday at the Cocopa Resort Club, about 50 miles east of Osaka. Not as many "foreign" players as in past years...the Hana Financial Group Championship really cleaned up on that score...also, 2015 champ Dumbo is playing in Texas. As usual, NHK is the broadcaster and I have no working streams for it. They usually slam the lid on YouTube posters, but try this in case it is there:

Nice try, but that one didn't show the JWO last year. But, maybe it will be different this year. Here are the start times each day for two different NHK channels:
Japan time:
Thu. 1 PM & 3:08 PM
Fri. 1 PM & 3:08 PM
Sat. Noon & 1:50 PM
Sun. 11:45 AM & 1:05 PM

I don't know exactly what happened between So Yeon Ryu and Honma. But I wish that she was still playing their clubs. Also the split with Hana Bank, means she may never get an invite. She didn't play in the KEB Hana Tournament last.

The solution might be in her garage...her bag at the 2011 Evian Masters, two weeks after winning the USWO.
"This is a player, right here. This is a first-class, world-class player."

If she really liked Honma, there was no reason for her to make any changes in 2019. I'm guessing the irons and wedges haven't changed, but she has been driver shopping this year (Honma, Callaway, TaylorMade, Ping) with horrendous results: 84th in avg. distance and 130th (I still can't believe that number) in accuracy. However, this is proof that you can lie with statistics...she's 65th in GIR...and 41st in scoring average...and 22nd in official money.

Thursday threesomes above ... didn't know that Kotone Hori was good enough to get into this one. You better get to the rope line early if you want a glimpse of the Shibuno/NASA/SY Ryu group. Ai Suzuki dropped out from left thumb/wrist pain.
Tuesday practice:
Is that a rugby ball? Shibuno can do it all.
BML and Mika Miyazato
NASA and Momoko Osato
Kana Nagai and Eri Okayama

Is that a rugby ball? Shibuno can do it all. Well, Japan is currently hosting the Rugby World Cup, the 1st time it's ever been staged in Asia. The Brave Blossoms are rather surprisingly leading their opening round pool after winning the traditional curtain raiser for the host nation against fellow minnows Russia and then upsetting powerhouse Ireland. Samoa and Scotland round out their group with the top two teams in each of the four groups advancing to the quarterfinals. The USA Eagles do not figure to advance out of their group, having already lost to England in their opener with France, Argentina and Tonga still to come.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Rugby_World_CupKevin

Here we go again ... Google mush from the JGA website:
[To everyone who will be attending] A lot of chaos and traffic jams are expected around the venue. Due to traffic congestion, you may not be able to visit as planned.
We strongly recommend that you visit by train.
For visitors coming by train, a free gallery bus is available from Isenakagawa Station on the Kintetsu Osaka Line and Nagoya Line (about 30 minutes from the station to the course).

I see the 'A' Team includes Pikachu. I spy a spare one peeking out of a mid-bag pocket, just in case.

Kotone Hori during her practice round. She started Thursday AM with a birdie at #1 ... unfortunately, it'll probably get worse from here.
At 300% magnification, it appears that SY Ryu (far right) was toasted at the champions dinner.

Gaby Ruffels opened with a par at #10...she's grouped with BML and Eimi Koga
