Hana Wakimoto of japan finished at -4, T19. she was just outside the radar of the TV cameras but a good tournament for the Jlpga rookie.
Just to regress, i noticed that new US LPGA rookie Suzuka Yamaguchi is playing the Austrailan Womens Open, and is an alternate for the Victoria tournament. She has officially declared her pro status and wont play Augusta. She was the winner of the Austrailia Womens Amateur in 2018.

I just re-watched the par-5 18th hole where Korea's Charley Hull MSK 5 was hitting her second shot...I still don't understand what she did. As background, she knocked in a long birdie putt at #17 to put her one shot behind at -10. Now for #18, which was an easy birdie hole playing moderately uphill at 466 holes...but long hitters like Tseng and A Lim Kim thought eagle and could hit this green on the fly in two, which is what I expected MSK 5 to do...but she didn't. She hit a hybrid that drifted right and finished short of the green....pitched on and made the putt for birdie...was she playing for a temporary tie? IMHO, pretty poor strategy to give the field a stroke, especially when Jeon and Tsai need three shots to reach that green.
I just took a look at her results of 2018...refresh my memory, what happened last year? I see about 15 tournaments where she just mailed it in...finished 46th on the money list. This is not the player I saw hit attack the ball during a practice round at Bedminster in 2017. She'll turn 24 next month and is still young enough to give LPGA q-school and the USA golf "system" (instruction, practice facilities, golf courses, equipment, physio and mental) a full-blown try NOW. She is too good to be farting around on the KLPGA.

I think it's putting. She really seems like Korea's answer to Lexi Thompson: a lot of power, a lot of missed short putts. When she putts well, she tends to go low, but she has a lot of weak putting performances, at least when I've watched her (I've never done a stats deep dive on her, but that's my impression).

Interesting stat of the week: both LPGA and KLPGA winners were 30-something Sisters. When was the last time that happened? Especially on the KLPGA, which is increasingly a young tour (but does have a few 30 somethings who are capable of winning, like Ran Hong did last year).

That was my thought two years, maybe three ago that she had the game to compete on the LPGA Tour. However for some reasons unknown she regressed. I had the same thought about Jung Min Lee when she pushed In Gee for PLOY. But she faded toward the end of that year. Last year she started to play better.

Victoria Morgan washed out (79-79), but had a good time anyway.
