A comprehensive article on Yealimi Noh OPINION: DEEP-END DIVE COMING TOO SOON FOR PROMISING TEENThrough the first two rounds of the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship, Yealimi Noh hit it just as far as any of her fellow competitors. She found more fairways and greens on Friday than three-time LPGA winner Katherine Kirk, who struggled with her ballstriking. And Noh’s carriage and demeanor fit well in a professional setting. She didn’t put up good numbers, 76-74 in the first two rounds, but she didn’t embarrass herself either. It’s not until you see her up close that you realize this 17-year-old Californian is still a young girl. “It’s not exactly 100 percent certain (when I’ll turn pro)” Noh said. “It might be after this event or early next year. I’m probably not going to play the (U.S. Women’s) Open (for which she is exempt because of her U.S. Girls’ Junior title) or the Augusta (National Women’s Amateur) tournament. I obviously want to go to the Open and the Masters tournament. That would be awesome, but it looks like it’s not going to happen.”

Ji Hyun Kim finishes 2nd Round in style. . . . https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo0xexIH2ZP Ji Hyun needs to make a lot more putts like that. She is near dead last on the KLPGA in putting average, six in greens in regulation. Jin Young needs to join her in improving their putting. They both have a good chance for a top ten with a great weekend scoring wise.

I would agree Jin Young's issues aren't tee to green, but green to hole. . .She sorta hugged Dean at the end, but what would one expect from her. . .she is also a classy lady. . .

First, let me complement this online-only magazine for sending a reporter to Korea.
This article needs to be read in conjunction with the SF Chronicle article announcing her decision to dump UCLA...so you can get two sides to her decision. It was so predictable that Eubanks dug up Stacy Lewis for her two cents.
The 2019 LPGA Q-school/series is a long way off...where does she expect to play for the next 10 months after she turns pro on Monday? Or will she just go to the range and hit 500+ balls per day? I know she is home-schooled...did she graduate already? I hope she has a really good agent lined up who can get her into a few Asian washout events or maybe the LET's Andalucia Open de Espana (Nov. 22-25). I was also thinking the Dubai Ladies Masters in December, but it's not on the LET sked anymore...I don't know if the November event in Spain is considered a replacement...it has a ton of exempt spots, but Leona Maguire is the only one so far.
Going to a year-round warm-weather school like UCLA for one year is not be a bad idea if she changed her mind...I assume she could play and practice a lot there. Pepperdine would be better if it still has the rep of being a jock school.

philknjI agree Yealimi's first priority is to sign an agent; hopefully a power agent like IMG. Her agent is responsible to find her as many playing opportunities as possible. I like her thinking to get her hands dirty as a pro as soon as possible. There is no reasons to stay as an amateur since she's decided to forgo 2019 USWO and ANWA. Most likely, she'll be the 2019 version of Brooke Henderson. She'll maximize sponsor exemptions and Monday qualification to pile up enough money for non-member Top 40 qualification or get a win.

I thought she was a senior in high school this year. So I still think it unlikely she will ever play at UCLA, because even if she doesn't turn pro next week, she will almost certainly be pro before next August.
As for what she does? She could just go back to school and enjoy her senior year!

This is like the women’s Masters. It’s got the enthusiasm. Friday was super duper.

Lexi, Anna Nordqvist and In Gee are fallen angels of 2018. Lexi is the youngest and her rebound is to be expected; but it's a critical juncture for Anna now that she's 31. I expect In Gee to win again, but she'll never live up to my expectation from her 2015 results. Lexi's dad has been with her every step of the way here in Korea. She is the only thing missing from today's leaderboard or it would be perfect.

More birdies than bogeys in the early going.

Nasa can be so much like Sei Young Kim. Not because their similar body types, but how they play the game. They can be so great at times, but then go completely the other way. There's no middle ground for either of them. Their play is to always attack, driving, iron play and also aggressive putting.

This is like the women’s Masters. It’s got the enthusiasm. Friday was super duper. They need to let ol Don pick the majors. Hana Bank - (The Masters. All the pageantry and die hard fans) KPMG - (The US Open. Everything about it is MAJOR) Canadian Open aka The Brooke - (Grandfathered in, like the PGA) Australian, British, US Open when they bother to play on worthy courses - (The Open, between these 3 events it will be played on one legendary course every year.)

It's good to be an In Gee fan today; +1 through 3, followed by 7 birdies in the next 15 holes.
She is still behind, but she's a purpose tomorrow.

This is the article that Karen kept referring to, written by Randall Mell. . . www.golfchannel.com/article/randall-mell/fantasyland-womens-golf-oasis-korea/Great third round with plenty of low scoring. . Lucky 6 and Seon Woo both had great rounds. . . The best thing about the ECP having a great round was seeing Miss Oh in the same pairing. . . I'm sure others will comment on In Gee's excellent round, "what no double bogeys!". . . How about MHL's putt at 18 being the shot of the day. . .Jin Young steady as she goes. . . Thank Goodness MHL is playing with Bronte tomorrow instead of Jin Young, who plays with Lucky 6. . . Should be a great final round tomorrow. . .really enjoyed watching the JLPGA stream when it was on. . . Used a split scream so I could watch both events at the same time. . .there's a mean bunker on that JLPGA course. . .personally I wish the LPGA would allow some of the best KLPGA players to play in a few more events, maybe on the Asian swings. . .I love seeing those ladies competing. . . And a few of the JLPGA's best wouldn't hurt either. . .
