It hasn't been a good year for Koreans. In Gee, in particular, has followed Hyo Joo Kim's LPGA footsteps; a respectable 1st year, reasonable 2nd year and disappeared all together after that.
In addition to the US; competition from Thailand, Japan, Europe, Canada, Australia, Philippines and China intensify every year. The playing field has been leveled.
People criticized Lydia Ko for making changes, but she endured because she knew she couldn't stand still. Do In Gee and Hyo Joo know that?
This one ain't going in the photo album for the Sisters, that's for sure. In Gee, So Yeon, Inbee, Chella, Mirim and Mi Hyang all were pretty mediocre on the final day. Minjee absolutely coughed it up, with a 77. Youch! She still hung on for a top five, but my word, that has to be one of her worst final rounds when in contention in recent memory. If it had been So Yeon ahead of her on the leaderboard, she probably would have shot a 62...
Sisters hwaiting!
Did you follow So Yeon for the final round. She had six birdies but only managed a score of minus one. I am curious to know why she made double on the two par threes. Unlike Henderson, she doesn't get shown on the weekend unless she is near the top.

Marina's victory was popular among her peers. Congratulations go out to her! She shot an incredible final round considering only four players managed to shoot in the 60's.
Mina Harigae experienced two choke jobs in a row. After shooting low in her first round at both Regina and Portland, she shot herself out of the tournaments with poor second rounds.
Congrats to Marina...as expected, I flipped through the Monday edition of NJ's biggest newspaper and found nothing on this.
It is almost impossible to find a touring pro from New Jersey who can really play. The only other LPGAer that comes to mind was Diana D'Alessio who had two or three big money seasons, but never won. On the men's side, Jim McGovern won the '93 Shell Houston Open and that's about it...am I missing anyone from the last thirty years? Oh, and look out for Karen Chung!!!!
Tons of MHL pics on Getty from Sunday...probably because she was playing with Sakura Yokomine and the Japanese golf market needs to be fed 24/7.

No, I was only there on Friday. Doesn't seem like I missed much, she actually played pretty well on that day, unlike Sunday!
