Just saw So Yeon speaking after the round. She looks and sounds supremely confident. I now like her chances.

Hee Young Park lived up to her nickname "Rocket", today. She started minus one, got to minus six, but made bogey four of the last five holes.

So Yeon didn't even have a particularly strong day tee-to-green (at least, according to her), but she still managed a 69. GREAT job today! Oh, and it's her birthday, and this happened after her round: So Yeon HWAITING!!!!!

Looking forward to this event at Aronimink in Philly in 2 years. Women’s golf has a chance to play a ton of classic courses. Hope they keep it rolling.

I was watching Park play #18...she hit driver and it ran through the fairway and into a bunker (below). Does that mean she should have hit a 3-wood instead? Would it be good take driver out of her hands on a finishing hole? Some people compare #18 to the 18th hole at TPC Sawgrass, which is ludicrous. It's 29 years since the '89 PGA Championship and the Kemper Lakes 18th hole is still stuck on stupid.

Dan Hicks said S.H. Park's nickname is "Tiger" and all the players call her that. I never heard of this before...has anyone else? They mentioned that during the US Women's Open coverage as well. That and 'Namdalla' seem to be the two stories they repeat about Sung Hyun.

Inky only 5 shots back. Go make the team! She is definitely in the driver's seat right now. In Gee missed the cut, she's ahead of Jin Young, and Hye Jin is playing a KLPGA event and not doing all that well at the moment. I agree that five shots back isn't out of it yet, but even if she doesn't contend, she still is in a good position to post a great finish. Go Inky!

Round 2 This was a lot of fun to watch! So Yeon on her birthday roaring into the lead with a great finish to her round. There's still a LOT of golf to play, but she's in a great position from which to strike! I would say anyone even par or better is still very much in this, and that includes a lot of Sisters. Don't count out Inky at 1 under or Sei Young Kim at 2 under. Annie Park continues to surprise at 4 under. Sung Hyun made some mistakes, but she didn't blow herself out of the tournament as has been her tendency lately. The two co-Players of the Year playing together tomorrow ought to be really interesting. Rocket goes up, Rocket goes down. It was still a fun ride while it lasted. And she and Hyo Joo and even Amy and Mirim are all still in this thing. On the down side, who saw Inbee's horrendous day coming? Wow, she was one of the worst of all the Koreans. Tied with In Gee, alas, and Jeong Eun Lee 6 also got an early exit after three pretty good results in LPGA events this season. Inbee's #1 ranking is probably gone after this week, but let's see what happens... Sisters HWAITING!!!

Well, if So Yeon plays tomorrow like she did today, she has this won. Confidence!
