I'm not totally convinced that Lexi's putting issues are completely behind her. We saw it earlier this year when she reverted to her old form when the pressure was on on Sunday. This week she got a decent cushion after Lydia dropped two shots, so Lexi didn't really have a must-make putt. I totally agree. Rory McIlroy may putt better than Jordan Spieth occasionally but Jordan will be a better putter 95% of the time. For the same reason; Sung Hyun Park will outplay Lexi more often than not.

Bah. Lydia rose to #1 in the world averaging 250 off the tee. Inbee rose to #1 in the world averaging 250 off the tee. Stacy rose to #1 in the world averaging 250 off the tee. Heck, Ai was #1 in the world averaging less then 250 off the tee. Lydia got to #1 on the strength of her short game and putting. Hopefully she's spending less time on her full swing, and more on her wedge game and putting. Going back to left hand low is a great start. Lydia's lack of length throughout her bag will put her at an disadvantage in proximity to the hole that will affect birdie opportunities. No question she's a very good scrambler around the greens to save par. Her switch to left hand low on short putts helped her result last week. But when it counted...Ko never really put up a good fight against Lexi on Saturday. Lydia looks like she hasn't developed any speed in her swing in the last 4 years....one would think from 16 to 20...one would naturally become stronger. IMO...the old Librarian is GONE....blame it all on Tina's selfishness....Golf Gods RULE!

Lexi putted brilliantly last week, but ya....I'm not convinced she's found a consistent magic wand. IMO...great/good putters are born and Lexi is not one. Her chipping can get jerky and suspect at times. A strength of Lexi's game is her confidence and playing aggressive with the driver. I also feel pretty confident with the driver vs pulling out a FW or hybrid...even on a tight driving hole....why?....because a driver has the largest sweet spot/face...the ball is teed up...so it can hide an average/poor ball strike. I believe Lexi continues to play with old S3 Forged irons vs. upgrading to the latest and greatest Cobra irons.....is the wide soles of the S3's help Lexi from digging deeper on her 2 foot divots on her approach shots. I'm surprised a Korean didn't email the LPGA office with Cheatin Lexi's questionable drop on 16 on Saturday.

Lydia will be more competitive from now on; but today is the evidence that she won't be the Lydia of old. Lydia will still win, and conceivably become #1 at some point. But I don't see her staying on top for years like before. I've been looking for fanofseri's crack pipe..I'm glad to see you have it.

'Should have stuck with driver. Yeah, the drop did look a bit suspect. Stacy and Legs both re-teed after rinsing their tee shots. However, there was no overhead camera to see the flight of the ball. It's possible it was a big enough hook that it had cleared land on the other side before tailing back into the hazard. Candie and Lydia were both on the tee watching the shot, and they agreed with the drop, so I'll accept their decision.
