There's a little bit of news on this one: The course will be re-routed, so that holes 7 thru 10 inside the racing track will become 15 thru 18 for the tournament. Eleven of the twelve players on the US Solheim team have committed to this one, including Lexi, Wie, Creamer, and Kang. The full field will be 144...a tentative list will be released Aug. 29. There are twelve entries so far for the Monday Sept. 4 qualifier at the same course, including Jennifer Hahn and Blonde FIGJAM. The event is three rounds, Thursday thru Saturday. I assume they don't want to compete with the NFL on Sunday and it will give the players an extra travel day to France. It's free admission to Tuesday practice and the Wednesday pro-am. A daily grounds pass is $17 and a weekly pass is $32...the price goes up to $20/$40 after August 31. Indiana product Danah Bordner never played a fairway this firm before: https://www.instagram.com/p/BXkuYdyl4Ea

Am I the only one on this site who thinks Danah is a hottie mom? I'm glad I was able to fanboy Danah for 20 seconds in Portland in 2013 and ask for a pic.

And let's not forget you can bring a child under 17 in for free with a ticketed adult and many events have military freebies too...yet we'll still see many LPGA events that are crickets...go figure. It's over...give up the LPGA in Merica. BJ Wie for commish!

.......and Blonde FIGJAM. I think it's a great nickname that was created at the Jr. Girl's Am, but am I the only one who had to look it up again to see that Erica Shephard is Blonde FIGJAM.....maybe GIMMEE II might be easier to remember. FYI...the REAL GIMMEE is so STOUT.

The prelim field was posted. I'm surprised SS Feng is skipping Portland and Indy. Kyle Roig was a sponsor invite...why? She just bombed out of Stage One q-school. At least she's still trying...I saw her get squashed by Kim Kim at the 2009 US Girls Junior and where is K2 these days?

The 10th will become the 18th? Not sure how that's going to work. For starters, the 10th is only 346 from the tips. It's not what I would call a strong closing hole. More importantly, there is very little room around the green for grandstands. They expecting only a handful of people to show up?

Also, as the originator of the Gimme nickname for Alison, I insist that you drop the second "e." Thank you.

Sometimes I wonder ,what is the LPGA thinking ,when they set up a course. Look at all the sub 70 scoring averages. They don't give the ladies enough credit for being great golfers. They need to challenge them more.

On the privates they play...I think the membership doesn't want the rough grown too thick and pinched into the fairways because the members would find it too difficult leading up to the event. On the resort courses...this would slow down play creating pace of play issues. IMO....many courses are becoming obsolete for the PGA pros. This past week at the Northern Trust...the REAL DUMBO drove over the water on 18...that hole was never designed to be played that way. IMO...the guys should be playing courses that are 8000+ yds...but few courses have the land to expand.....besides....there is minimal requirement to build courses like that considering 6300 yards is long enough for many weekend hacks.

In my experience playing...less that 20% of courses have an 18th hole that is really difficult to par.

My comment was in favor that all courses should have a tough finishing hole....nothing like trying to make par on the last hole to post a 69, 79, 89, 99, etc. I've been gag/choking like a clown on the last few finishing holes the past few times I've been playing...let's see if that trend continues when I play later today. I'm gonna test out a set a used set of irons that I bought really cheap on cyber space...but the grips might be an issue....if I don't like them...they are gonna be returned. Oh ya....also got a good deal on used 3 & 4 hybrid too. The more money I save....the more to spend playing....cause I can't afford to pay $755 just to valet park my car at a LPGA event.

I'm more of a fan of good risk/reward finishing hole. The closing hole at Mission Hills is great. The par 5 is easily reachable with a good drive, but if one is over the green it's a tough up and down for birdie from the back of the green. Poppy's Pond also can attract balls, and an up and down from the right side of the green is no cakewalk. Right, So Yeon? Of course, it would be much tougher if they didn't have the backstop.
Difficult finishing holes at tournaments tend to suck the drama out of the finish, unless you like watching the leader bogie the hole and force a playoff. Meh.

Does "stout" have a different meaning in Canuckistan? I'm not so sure 'Merican girls would appreciate being called stout.
