People ask if the glass is half empty or half full. I always say there is no glass.
However, I assume the exhibition will be the springboard to Se Ri's triumphant return to competitive golf.

I'm trying to convince a friend in Mexico City to go and watch the exhibition and give live updates. She asked if Rickie Fowler is playing and I said yes.

I don't think there is any coverage, alas.
Some Sisters who have Match Play success: In Gee Chun not only won the Doosan Match Play in 2015, she also finished runner-up to Ha Na Jang in 2013. That was the first time I became aware of her. Not long after that she won the Korean Women's Open for the victory that put her on the map.
(In Gee during the 2013 Doosan semis)
Obviously Ha Na won the 2013 Doosan.
So Yeon Ryu's breakthrough win also came at the Doosan in 2009. She had won before on tour, but was basically at the same level as her old rival He Yong Choi, who had beaten her the previous year for the KLPGA Rookie of the Year. As it turned out, those two met in the finals, and it was an epic: tied after 18 holes, they played *nine* playoff holes before Ryu finally put Choi away. From that point on, Ryu went from strength to strength, winning four total times in the 2009 season and finishing second to Hee Kyung Seo for Player of the Year.
(Below, So Yeon at last celebrates her win at the 2009 Doosan. She had already played the semis earlier in the day. The finals were a 7+ hour match, so that was about 12 hours of golf in one day).
Go Sisters!!!

And don't forget about Minjee Lee and Danielle Kang, both former winners of the US Women's Amateur!

Ah yes, the Doosan Match Play. My kingdom to be any place other than Seoul Sisters and overhear someone talking about it so I can jump in the convo and scare them 1/2 to death.

The match-ups have been announced...
Two Seoul sister vs. Seoul sister matches: MHL vs. J-Song and Danielle Kang vs. Su Oh
Charley vs. Nelly should be good, too.

Pity that this is straight elimination and not pool play leading to the round of 16, but they're hard up for money as it is so they needed to get the pro-am day in. The brackets are named for Hall-of-Famers Inkster, Sorenstam and Pak as well as the tournament's host. Fitting that the Queen Bee is top seed in the Pak Bracket: in fact all the top two seeds in each bracket are Asian-born so an all-Asian final has a better than average probability. The three and four seeds in each bracket are all Caucasian, though, including the defending champion and likely Round of 16 opponent for Inbee.
Other takeaways: Mo and May will likely meet in the 2nd round but the Kordas are on opposite sides of the draw and can only meet in the final, unlikely as that sounds. The pride of Shrewsbury, MA will have all she can handle against the Tortoise, who unfortunately also stands in the HaNaGizer's path. Of course with Cristie moving so slow Papa Jang cannot possibly miss. After more than likely making short work of the local sponsor invite Lyds has her sights set on MHL (sorry, Phil) and then Tutta.

It's too bad past Hamilton Farm match play winner Sun Young Yoo did not qualify this year. She's now six for six in cuts made this year (including four rounds of the VOA train wreck) and her streak is up to eight going back to 2016.
Jing Yan has been listed as the first alternate this week. I wonder if she made the trip down there...if yes, maybe hoping one of the sixty-four drops out with runs at the last minute. BTW, I clicked on her links for Twitter and Instagram at lpga.com and they don't work.

The pride of Shrewsbury, MA will have all she can handle against the Tortoise, Go Miss Shrewsbury! She has come a LONG way to get into a tournament like this. Maybe one day she'll get a chance to play in an LPGA tournament in her backyard. Apparently, her tour has no use for Massachusetts or Connecticut. Or, maybe the snobs at the best golf clubs in Massachusetts and Connecticut have no use for the LPGA. (probably the latter) As for The Tortoise, it brings back a bad memory from Round One of the 2012 Match Play at Hamilton Farm...as I read my report again, it's worse than I thought: From the 18th green, I hiked over to the 10th tee box to hook up with the first close match that came through. I got it with Cristie Kerr and Belen Mozo (All Square). Ugh, what a mistake! By and large, it was eight holes of deadly dullness. Had I been patient, there were better matches that came through later, including a chance to see SY Ryu in person for the first time. What was I thinking? Obviously, I wasn’t.
I should have dumped Kerr and Mozo after the 10th hole. Kerr drives her ball into the left rough and does an extensive analysis of the situation. Memo to Kerr: I have seen this shot successfully done at past match plays from the left rough at the 10th. Just hit the frickin’ ball!!!!
Kerr finally knocks it on the green, as does Mozo (from the fairway). I had seen Mozo play before, so I saw nothing new...and her skin-tight short shorts did nothing for me. Then both players three-putted...an exhibition of pure ennui that would have cured the worst case of insomnia.
The only memorable highlight from this dreck was at the 13th where Kerr cut the corner with her drive (similar to Pressel), hit an iron to the front edge of the green, and rammed home an uphill 10-footer for a birdie win.

The sloth is the slowest animal in the world with a speed of 0.003 mph. They are so slow algae grow on them.
