I figured beforehand that this would be like previous match play tournaments where some lower seeds would do surprisingly well but this one kept truer to form. The final four was a satisfyingly strong with two of the top players in Sei Young Kim and Ariya Jutanugarn coming one and two while Mi Jung Hur and Michelle Wie continue their fine seasons.
A shame we couldn't see it on TV.

Hmm...the PGA Tour had a big turnout in Mexico City for their match play event, but the LPGA couldn't draw flies.

Hmm...the PGA Tour had a big turnout in Mexico City for their match play event, but the LPGA couldn't draw flies. The WGC event in Mexico was stroke play. DJ won it with a score of 270. The match play event was held for the 2nd year in Austin, TX.

Too bad they can't hold the Founders Cup while the winter visitors are still here. However with the current schedule it may not be possible. Also the way they promote it here, it might not make a difference, in the gallery anyway.

Someone on GolfWrx posed a good question: With no TV and no spectators, what did the sponsors get out of this event? Ok, they got their corporate logos on the tournament website...big deal.

I read that Lorena's Foundation benefited BUT If it's all about her Foundation. Why not take the $1.3M purse and instead of handing it to a bunch of diva's put the money directly into the Foundation. Have Lorena ask 40 LPGA pros volunteer to come in January and play a 2 day corporate scramble raising add'l money from all the big cheese Exec participants.

Megan Khang leads Nasa Hataoka $45,471 to $13,069; still everybody's game.
