So, you admit that Gal and Reid are not among the best women in the short game department... then use their weakness as proof that all pro women are worse than the elite men? Don't you see a logical disconnect there? Happy....ya gotta stop being a POSER and become a REAL golfer fan and start watching the men's tours....including the senators who still have game on the Champions tour. You'll then witness that the guys as a whole have better short games and scrambling skills. Let's not forget about the 2016 Marathon, which included RR #1 & 2 and Mirim is no slouch....if you include the 72nd hole....it took Lydia, Ariya and Mirim 15 attempts on a par 5 18th hole for Lydia to finally make a birdie to win. That's pretty lame for pros with plus handicaps to take 15 attempts on the same hole with a rather benign approach to a pin..... for someone to finally make birdie. If you watched the PGA tour...which you rarely do...you'd notice their set-ups have more severe tucked pins and their greens are running faster than LPGA course set-ups which makes their scrambling more difficult. Unless someone is completely naive.....try to show me anyone who would pick 4 random LPGA pros to win over 4 random PGA pros in a scrambling contest over 5 holes...it would be like finding a unicorn. So I guess you don't see your logical fallacy... Here's what I see when I've watched PGA golf: Hit the crap out of the ball. Land it in the rough or trees. Gouge it out and onto the green. Two putt or sometimes make birdie. I think it's ugly to watch, but they get away with it because they have a strength advantage. and on most courses they play, distance is more important than accuracy. When they actually play a course where the reverse is true, they whine like babies. In the few times I've watched, I've seen some great putters; and some real terrible ones. I remember purposely watching a tournament a few years ago because everyone was talking about how great the men were on and around the greens. I saw as I recall at least three missed putts from within three feet. One of those missers was Mickelson. The lags didn't seem any better than the best women. But that's right, their greens are harder, so that's why! When they do badly, it's cause of hard conditions. And when they do well, it's because they are just better. The women never get that same consideration. Note that I'm not claiming that the women are better than the men, or that the women shouldn't play harder courses. I only have anecdotal evidence to go by. But I have yet to watch a men's event where I was bowled over by the experience. I don't care about distance. I find them boring almost to a man as personalities, and they have an added arrogance that makes most of them offputting. You call NYC vanilla? She is like Swamp Dogg compared to most of these guys. By the way, I don't care if you think I'm a real fan or not.

I think, especially in the first round, the enormity of dealing with the Jang situation might have slowed her down a tad. She seemed less distracted when I saw her on the weekend.

I may have exaggerated a bit. She was a little slow at ANA, because she takes awhile to decide on what club to hit. Of course, ANA is the one tournament that she truly wants to win so she may be more deliberate than usual.

So your opinion of men's golf is based on maybe 2-3 hrs of watching it on TV and I assume you have never attended a men's event to watch up close their ball striking, skills and behavior inside and outside the ropes.....uh...OK then. Sounds familiar....like all the Merican posts I read on other golf forums......that they find the women's games boring...yet these people have never attended a LPGA event to see their skills 1st hand and the atmosphere surrounding the tournament.

No, I've watched probably around 7 tournaments in my life, though I've never gone to one in person. I'd guess about 20 - 30 hours of TV. If they were going to WOW me, it would have happened at some point during that span, yes? Wouldn't there have been at least a couple of guys on course who would have seemed fan friendly and charismatic during that amount of time? (and I did say that my evidence was anecdotal, which is more than you will ever admit).
