I haven't talked to fanofseri at all; but I'm sure he won't be disappointed if Sung Hyun decides to join LPGA and gives Nelly a run for her money for 2017 Rookie of the Year award.
However, like fanofseri, I feel there is probably better than 50% chance Sung Hyun won't join LPGA based on Non-member Top-40 rule.
There is a thing about personal pride and keeping up with the Joneses (i.e. In Gee).

The Terminator would eat Nelly's lunch and then some....... at each event they play together. Nelly will NOT be your 2017 ROY...nuff said.

If either Sung Hyun or Jin Young Ko join the LPGA next year they will destroy her. Sagstrom, who dominated the Symetra Tour this year, will also smoke her. I'm sure there are others -- Mariah Stackhouse? The Nasa gal? Etc.

If I recall correctly.....back at Rusty's Playhouse....I'm pretty sure 18majors was Jessica Korda's BIGGEST and only fanboy there when she 1st appeared on the tour and then for a couple of years. He's deserted Rusty's Fun House like all the others....it's basically a dormant site/forum...and deservedly so...it was a joker site with ineffective leadership and moderation.

I am going out on a limb here and say 100% the Terminator will take up membership IF she qualifies.
And 100% she will be Rookie of the Year. Unless somehow her digestive system can't adapt to an non kimchi diet.
The only reason she is saying that she is undecided is to deflect the pressure that comes with publicly declaring such an intention.
Meanwhile Nelly will have had a successful season if she just keeps her tourcard.

I definitely think Sung Hyun wants to get on tour by winning, just like her fellow KLPGA stars In Gee and Hyo Joo Kim did. But there's nothing wrong with getting in the back door or even going to Q-School. Keep in mind that both Sei Young Kim and Ha Na Jang went to Q-School, and they've done all right for themselves on tour. Meanwhile, Q Baek won to get on tour, and she has struggled.
(although personally, I think the top 40 rule is dumb and should be abolished, as it favors those who get a lot of sponsor's invites over equally or more talented golfers who aren't as popular).

I agree with you about the getting sponsor invites because you are popular. However Sung Hyun Park earned her invites to Majors, because of her great play on the KLPGA tour. I guarantee she would not have gotten nearly that many invites, any other way.

All majors have spots reserved for top 3-5 players of KLPGA. She also qualified for the two majors she didn't play; KPMG Women's PGA and Ricoh Women's British Open.

Yup...I agree...and yes...keeping it low profile to minimize pressure as we know the Korean can gag under the spotlight as demonstrated in their poor showings at the Hana....nuff said. And yes....I thing it will be HUGE if Nelly finishes top 80 next year to keep exempt status...or even top 100....look what happenned to the LOVELY JU YOUNG PARK. If Nelly was on a trajectory for LPGA stardom....we would have heard a lot more from her in the news by now.

That's what I meant is that her play on the KLPGA earned her spot (not invite) in the Majors. I guess I worded it wrong.

(although personally, I think the top 40 rule is dumb and should be abolished, as it favors those who get a lot of sponsor's invites over equally or more talented golfers who aren't as popular). And that's why it's called a SPONSOR'S invite...their money....their decision. Popularity and looks sell tickets and exposure. If sponsors want to invite Paige Spiranac...all the more power to them. The truly talented players will find their path to the tour eventually because their skills will shine through.

I have no problem with sponsor's invites; I just don't like players earning tour cards because they get tons of invites. Fortunately, the bar is high enough that it is tough to earn a card that way (has anyone ever done it before this year?).

I believe Brooke Henderson would have earned her card, by her being inside the top forty on the money list. Even if she hadn't won the tournament.

The JTBC Golf starting time is 11:45 AM (Korea) for Rounds 3 & 4. Someone on GolfWrx said The Hulk caught some s*** from the gallery. If true, when and where? Then I can look for it on the JTBC Golf replay. Time to create a binder for the Flying Dumbos. I have read or heard nothing about anyone booing or heckling or whatever Ha Na Jang. Nor did I see any evidence of it during the broadcast. Sounds apocryphal to me. It happened in round 1. In round 2 on the golf channel coverage all three announcers talked about it for about 2 minutes. Nothing was made up by me. If anyone can watch the second round on GC they can verify it themselves.
