The difference between good and bad golf is paper thin; Alison Lee is the best example of it today.

In Gee closed the gap with Lydia; she's behind 26-27 with 8 ties.
In Gee beat Lydia by 7 shots; probably 3 shots short of overtaking Vare Trophy lead from Lydia.

Junior was a bright spot. You have to avoid the 8s.

This was an odd week; none of Rolex top 10 finished inside top 10; Their best were T13 shared by Ariya, In Gee, Lexi and Sung Hyun.
It's a good week for young Americans not named Lexi; the 25 and under set of Alison, Danielle and Jessica. Hopefully, they form a new Big 4 to challenge the new Korean Big 4 of In Gee, Sei Young, Sung Hyun and Ha Na.

ShanShan Feng was T3, 2, T4 and 4 the last 4 tournaments; almost as good as In Gee's first 4 tournaments this year. She earned $567,204 for 4 events, more than 60% of her 2016 earnings.

This highly anticipated tournament ended up as a bitter disappointment. Until next year's first fake major, the remaining tournaments are a series of gimmicks. Highlights in the next several months will include pictures of Michelle Wie wearing a baseball cap backwards and finding out which players are invited to Suzann Pettersen's wedding.

Congratulation to Carlota for her first LPGA win.
On the other hand, what was Alison thinking, standing in the fairway with a one shot lead. All she needed with iron in her hand, were the middle of the green. Instead for some reason she hit the shot right. I didn't see if she talked it over with her caddie, to decide on the best option.
In Kyung I believe just got tired having to hit so many rescue clubs, from wet rough. Another top ten is not bad.
Kudos to Min Sun Kim for a great tournament. Also Shan Shan.
The hang in there award goes to In Gee, and So Yeon, even though she didn't play well.

Nice gag choke by GIMMEE....WTF...a water ball with wedge in hand. Another classic gag by a Korean.....although FAKE. Man I wanted GIMMEE to win.
But Carlota gagged it too with a 3 jack on her 72nd hole. Nice to see The LOVELY Aza out there to congrat Carlota....I thought at one point...Gaby was gonna kiss Carlota on the lips.

As an amateur psychologist I think getting close and losing is exactly what Alison Lee needed. She was born on February 26th which makes her a Pisces. Very sympathetic to the needs of others. Supportive and compassionate. She needs to drop all that baggage.

Now that Lydia is approaching 20 and on the down side of her career I'm really taking time to appreciate seeing her play while I still can.

A dreary final round to match the weather. Carlota was about the only player to play well during the front nine and change while Alison Lee was stringing bogeys together. I wish I stayed up later last night for the replay this morning on TGC was non-sensical. They cut from Carlota finishing 11 to her finishing 18! I did stay up late enough to see her double-bogey 14. I went to bed knowing this could still be a tournament.
And so it was! Ciganda barely missed her par on 18 in regulation so all Alison had to do to win was par it. Instead of playing it safely on the green with her approach, she aimed for the pin. Her ball went too far right, bounced of the bank and back across the hazard line into the water. She was able to save par to force a playoff.
At least the playoff hole was exciting. Alison just missed her birdie chance from a long ways away. Carlota kept her nerves and drained her birdie to finally earn her maiden victory on the tour.
Another lousy Pakpicker for me. Many of my picks for just outside the top 12. It's nice Danielle Kang got a top ten but I picked her last week!

Alison made bogey to go from minus eleven to minus ten. To fall into a tie with Carlota.
I think if I was in her situation, I may have hooked it into the grandstand. No way would I have gone anywhere near the water.

One of my buddies is good friends with McNamara. I guess he has a lot of good stories to tell.

She needs to drop all that baggage. 1) Huh...WTF.....this major CHOKE by GIMMEE is gonna scar her for a while. 2) The Smiling Buddha is also a February Pisces....yes..... Sympathetic, Supportive and Compassionate are 3 words commonly used to describe the GREAT MAN. ....oh ya...resident expert is another description too...I believe it was Cannlinny or TonyJ who 1st called the SB .....the resident expert.
