I'm excited to attend this event. Some of my favorite players will be there. In Gee, Amy Yang, Minjee, Yani, Hull, Reid, Shan Shan. There are a lot of lower ranking players in this event. That's OK, I'll get to know them. This is such a difficult event to get right. You need 3 or 4 players per team to get the patriotic vibe right, but then you have low ranking players there. I think that's OK. It's different though.

Tony So what happens if a player WD's? Is the player that replaces...the one that sits 5th as of this date? Is there an alternate on site or is the match a forfeit if a player can't play? Thx PS....I wish I was there...I'd be there just to do my 'stirring the pot' dance and get in your USA USA BS when all the other teams beat the Yanks....especially if Kerr and Lewis are paired...it would be epic.

Huh...WTF...a Kerr avatar...you should be embarrassed. Here's a classic post on WRX about Kerr at the KPMG...she's such a b*tch. "After this shot, Kerr and her caddie complained about the volunteer with the flag manning the tee box. Apparently the volunteer was in a bad position and Kerr saw the bright yellow flag out of the corner of her eye during her backswing. I thought your head was supposed to be still during the swing? Why wait until after the shot to complain about it?"

I was watching some player during the KPMG, and on an adjoining tee, a player hit a drive she didn't like. She cursed loudly and slammed her club into the ground.
I turned to see who it was. Yup, Kerr.
The guy standing next to me muttered, 'guess she didn't like that one'. Understatement of the year!

As I mentioned on the Olympic watch thread, if Inbee does not play (and I think she probably won't), that would mean that this year's Crown team from Korea would be completely different from the 2014 team.

I'd be very surprised if Inbee played. I'd also be surprised if Ha Na elected not to take her place.
I have a family wedding to attend on Thursday and Friday, so I'll likely be attending Saturday only. I'm curious if they'll be providing shuttle buses from either of the nearby Metra commuter railroad stations (Waukegan and Prairie Crossing). Edit: So much for public transportation. The North Central Service line doesn't run on weekends, and the Milwaukee District North line doesn't run until 8:35 am, arriving at 9:42 am, which pretty much blows half the morning. The Union Pacific North line leaves downtown at 6:35 am, but it's a slow milk run that doesn't arrive until 7:55 am. Ugh. 'Looks like I'll be driving.

Do the Korean players like In Gee or are they jealous because she is so popular in Korea and has such a slick and well-oiled publicity department that caters to both Korea and US?

Happyfan mentioned that during many LPGA tournaments In Gee is the most searched golfer in Korea even when she's not contending; while many other Korean golfers were contending. Jiyai Shin once said the one thing she would like to have from other golfers was Na Yeon Choi's face. Before her drug suspension, Maria Sharapova was the highest earning female athlete in the world for 12 straight years, and she had no friends on WTA tour. It's human nature not to like the chosen, the one and only.

It's human nature not to like the chosen, the one and only. I think that's true but there are exceptions. For example, I think Arnold Palmer was and is beloved even though he is the richest and maybe the most handsome of all the golfers. Rory also seems to be extremely well-liked even though he is near the top and will only add to his resume with an easy victory at Oakmont this week.

In Gee tweets like a fortune 500 company 1/2 the time. It's funny.

I should have gone to this in 2014...Maryland is not that far for me. My one regret is not going to past LPGA events when they were in Delaware or Maryland.
How far in the future has the LPGA committed to the UL Crown? The event website has no information on if, where, or when they'll play it in 2018.

I bet the international crown gets tweaked so we're seeing something with the top 24 or 32 golfers in the world. There's 200th ranked players in this thing. I don't have a better idea.
But I think maybe
Top 6 USA + Top 6 World
Lexi, Stacy, Gerina, Kerr, Korda, Bam Bam Lydia, Brooke, Mingee, Su Oh, Webby, Gaby
vs
Top 6 Asia + Top 6 Europe
Inbee, SYK, IGC, Amy Yang, Ha Na, So Yean Ariya, Shanshan, Nordqvist, Pettersen, Nomura, Teresa Lu
That's a great event am I right?
(I guess I put Thailand in Europe. I'm cool that that. This even would be great.)
