I played Jr and Sr High golf. I had 0 to do with the coach. Nobody did. The college coaches get right up in the players personal space. I'd hate that. fanofseri I'm happy you made this comment. I was thinking the same and about to make a comment. Ya....either let the gals have caddies....I don't care for all the coach interaction...IMO...I think the coach needed to back off Alvarez...I think being so close was making her nervous...she did a Kevin Na backing off twice on one of her approach shots. The NCAA gals are babysat and leading to indecisiveness and slow play.....no wonder casual rd take more than 4.5 hrs....ugh. Many gals often say they had to do nothing in college and are ill prepared when they make the LPGA tour. They should all follow Dr. Won Park's philosophy.....24/7 golf....no internet, no phones.......just eat, sleep, do school work and golf and not in this order. But the millennials are spoon feed...they are all soft......you know this.

I hope the morons that run the Olympics saw that and realize medal play is obsolete. When they play at Griffith Park in 2024 I want to see the USA vs. Korea for the gold. Unless, I'm dead, then they can do whatever they want. We'll all be dead by 2024 with all our Olympic athletes returning from Rio (assuming those that aren't kill by the violence/crime in Brazil) with the Zika virus and spreading it throughout North America. The Koreans will be smarter than the rest and sequester Winbee, Bada*s, Amy and Dumbo in their rooms at a private home in Rio with police escorts to and from the course. They'll also hire extra security to ensure Ha Na doesn't poison their meals. Small world....I went to HS with a gal who is now a professor at Brock University and does work/research/projects on Zika, West Nile, etc

Jeehae Lee played for Princeton if I remember correctly; Stephanie Wei went to Yale but as a Seattle native she's over the moon that the Dawgs won.Kevin

One year at the Sybase (Upper Montclair CC), I was aiming my camera at her while she was on the practice green. A media photographer was next to me and asked if that was Michelle Wie.

No wonder that was the first win for Washington's coach. I wanted to yell at the Tv for her to back away from Alvarez. So she can focus on the task at hand. Every time Alvarez backed off to setup ,she came running over. Great wedge play , clutch putting and a lot of heart was the difference for Washington.
Stanford were pretty tough also, just fell short.

The coach standing so close and hovering....IMO......making Alvarez more nervous....you'd think it was BJ hovering over MW. She went against her own mantra...telling her team to just have fun and be the team with the most fun.

But the millennials are spoon feed...they are all soft......you know this. Once Trump gets us in a ground war w/ Canada I'm worried the millennials are so soft that us older people will have to do the fighting. If you see someone with Flying Dumbo on the side of his helmet don't shoot.

We don't have a military....our only aircraft carrier is a row boat with a piece of plywood nailed on the top....powered by an outboard motor...nuff said.

HOLY MOLY I hope you guys watched it today.
Hossler playing in pain and can't swing a club....chips in on 16 and then putts out of a bunker and then drains a 18 ft downhill slider to win 2&1.
Texas vs. Oregon....looks like some will play hookie to watch.
Love how they baked the crap out of the course to make it play tough.....a great looking track....but nothing compared to Sahalee.

I finally watched the men's final....congrats to Raza....but he should have shook hands with Funk afterwards and it was lame that Casey Martin didn't attempt to march Raza over to shake hands neither.
Major fail by Castrale....she thought her interview was with Raza...it was another team member...duh....and Nicole is not blonde.

The Castrale incident was cringeworthy, I feel bad for her. As for Oregon's behavior--it was embarrassing. They have the most obnoxious and classless football team in history, so it makes sense that the golf team is just as bad. When your role model is a robber baron like Phil Knight, it is about all you can expect.
