I caught a little of the Drive, Chip and Putt for 7-9 year old girls and there's a participant named Asterisk Talley.

Jennifer Kupcho, co-leader after first round, talks prestige of Augusta National Women's AmateurMaria Fassi, the 2018 ANNIKA Award winner, admitted to shaking badly on the first tee. “I love that feeling,” said Fassi, who opened with a 2-under 70. “I think it was worthy of how big this tournament is, and I mean, we’re being part of history, and I think that if I would have not been nervous, I would have been worried.”

What happened to Thitikul? She really stunk it up on Wednesday (79) ... currently Even on her first three holes today, but with all those players to jump, it might be OVER.
Yuka Yasuda on Wednesday ... using a club caddie I assume ... I hope she knows enough golf English to guide her play ... Even on her first two holes today, currently T-11.
Seo-yun Kwon and Jiwon Jeon

Brooks vs Kupcho is good for the event.

Thitikul might make it after all...three birdies in her last four holes...with six holes left, she is two shots off the cut line.

I hope Kupcho (up by three shots) screws up her last three holes so there will be a real horse race on Saturday. Both Hou sisters fell out of the cut line, but it's not decided yet. Pano is making a late charge...needs a birdie on her last hole.
Yuka didn't just show up ... birdies on 12 thru 14, currently in 6th place. She has 16 pics at gettyimages today ... because they know women's golf SELLS in Japan.

As of now, the playoff looks nuts ... 11 players are tied at T-21 ... Andrea Lee is one of them ... she'd probably admit to underachieving so far.

Are we looking at an 11 person playoff for 10 spots?

That is correct ... reminds me of 21 NHL teams in '79-'80 playing an 80-game schedule to eliminate 5 teams from the playoffs. Thiitikul can get in on this party with birdies on the last two holes.
UPDATE: Thitikul now needs eagle at the par-5 9th of 525 yards ... good luck with that.

The cutline to get into playoff is +3; these truly are amateurs. Cutline for pros on this course would probably be even.

Maria Fassi has fire; she won't quit until her last putt.
I pick her over Kupcho on Saturday.
