In Gee is probably not as well known in Japan as Bo Mee and Ha Neul; but may be on par with Jiyai and other stars.

Looks like the two primary YouTube carriers of JLPGA and KLPGA events have both been deleted. . .

Have faith, they'll probably pop up again under different names. The first broadcast is at 1 PM Japan time...even if there's nothing live on Youtube, there's a good chance someone will post a replay there later. Meanwhile, here's a good time killer: Dumbo-MHL-Kikuchi playoff from 2015 (the sound is not in sync with the video):

They are so ape about women's golf in Japan that the JLPGA is running a washout tour event at the same time (Sept. 26-28).
Ting Ting on Wednesday and Thursday...with nine holes remaining is Round Two, she is +4, two strokes outside the cut line.

Among the early starters in Round One, Rumi Yoshiba has the lead at -3 thru 15 holes.
Ayaka Matsumori and Pei Ying Tsai
Kaore Ohi and Min Young Lee
Karis is competitive as usual (E thru 13 holes) while Hojo is bombing out at +5 thru 13 holes.

On the Step Up tour, the cut went to +4, but Ting Ting blew it by finishing at +8.
Yui Kawamoto (-3) looks like a lock to be a regular on the big tour in 2019, if not sooner. She's two shots out of the lead for her third Step Up win in 2018. From Round One and Two:

Back to the big tour....top-60 plus ties make the cut, which is currently +2.

Hojo crashed and burned with a 78. Some idiot must've yelled "Fried Clams!!" during her backswing and rattled her.

Hyo Joo Kim needs to shoot under par in round 2 to redeem herself.
IK Kim and In Gee are inside the cut but both need big rounds to get to Top 10.
The prospect is slimmer for In Gee than IK; because round 1 has been her best round recently.

I don't usually watch the JLPGA; the coverage was TERRIBLE. They seemed to focus on only six holes: 7, 8, 9 and 16, 17, 18. So when In Gee and So Yeon went to the middle holes, they basically disappeared from the coverage. I never saw Ha Neul, either, which was very disappointing. Then they had a really long profile on one of the players mid-round that segued into another profile of one of the past champions. I swear that went on for ten minutes. In the middle of the broadcast!
On the plus side, they showed a lot of So Yeon. She looked great. Tee to green solid. Didn't always leave herself great birdie tries, but always lagged it close. Had at least one fantastic up and down from a bunker. And on the final hole she drilled a 30+ foot birdie. Awesome stuff.
In Gee was more up and down. Her biggest issue seemed to be tee-to-green; I didn't see her hit anything all that close. Her short game was great. She lag putted well and had at least one superlative bunker shot. Hope she picks it up a little in round 2; she still managed a 71 despite not playing all that well, so I hope she has a mid-60s round coming up next.
Inky was already done, so I didn't see her, but she shot +1. Not bad for her first round after a long layoff, but I hope she tunes up well for next week! I want to see her rally to a top ten to make me feel better about her being on the team.
Nice first day by Ha Neul as well.
Sisters Hwaiting!

The JGA (similar to USGA) is running the show, so they might have other priorities...this allows for all the players to be seen on TV. Round Two will be exactly the same. After the cut is made, they'll show holes 7 thru 18 for Sat. and Sun. They'll also show the 1st hole tee shots on Sat. & Sun. starting at 7 AM (Japan time) on Japan's Golf Network (which I can't stream). NHK is doing the rest of the broadcasting...don't know if this particular channel will have it:
NHK schedule (Japan time):
Fri. 1:00 - 4:50 PM
Sat. 1:50 - 4:00 PM
Sun. 12:00 - 4:00 PM

Great start for So Yeon. I think that eighteen hole is a great finishing hole for a Major. It's not a Mickey Mouse par five.
Looks like Chie Arimura and Shino Oyama is now sponsored by Yamaha.

My friend, you need to read my posts more closely, this is old news! Actually, what's news is that Chie and Shiho wore caps/visors that said YAMAHA. Before, they wore stuff that said 'RMX' or 'inpress', which are Yamaha trade/model names...but maybe Yamaha decided that their marketing needed to be more direct in the future.
As for Shiho, she's playing a Yamaha driver, but has stuck with Ping i20 irons. She'd like to test Yamaha irons, but at 41, she doesn't want to risk falling apart during the season...maybe she'll do it in the off-season.

Due to a fog delay, the Round Two tee times have been pushed back 30 minutes...if it's longer than that, I wouldn't be surprised.
Round Two is cued up for 1 PM (Japan time)

UPDATE: No additional delay, Haruka Morita and Saiki Fujita were in the first group starting at #10 at 7:15 AM.
