The point loss each week is uneven, but the general rule is the more points you have, the more you lose each week.
Let's say In Gee loses 2.00 and Shanshan loses 4.00 this coming week; In Gee wins and Shanshan finishes outside Top 40.
In Gee will have 335.37/48=6.9869, Shanshan 341.51/49=6.9696.
In Gee will be No. 1 if all other high ranked players don't do well.
Don't players lose the depreciated points that they earned two years ago on a weekly basis?
Lydia earned 100 RR points for her 2016 ANA victory. Although, those points are now worth less because Rolex points for the most recent 13 weeks carry more value than the previous 91 weeks, she will lose those depreciated ANA points when the rankings come out next week.
I don't know how you assume In Gee loses 2 points and Shanshan loses 4 points.
In Gee was T2 at the 2016 ANA, Shanshan was T50. I think In Gee has more points to lose.

Where is Ha Neul Kim? Jiyai Shin? And others ranked inside the world top 50 who aren't here this week. I wonder if they were invited. Sorry for being an asshole but I'm starting to think that this tournament is kind of a joke.
