champs.usga.org/EntryForms/womensopen_2018.pdfThe above form has all the entry details...deadline is Wed., April 25 at 5 PM EST. Here are the 2017 foreign tour exempt money leaders, which were not listed on the form: CLPGA1 Saranporn LANGKULGASETTRIN, Thailand 2 Solar LEE Solar, ROK 3 Supamas SANGCHAN, Thailand JLPGA1 Ai Suzuki, JPN 2 Min Young Lee, ROK 3 Teresa Lu, TPE 4 Ha Neul Kim, ROK 5 JY Shin, ROK KLPGA1 Jeong Eun Lee 6 2 Ji Hyun Kim 3 Ji Hyun Oh 4 Jin Young Ko 5 Hae Rym Kim LET1 Georgia Hall, ENG 2 3 4 5 I don't know who the other four LET players are, thanks to the LET's website not having that info posted in the logical places I checked. It's absurd that the USGA continues to give five exemptions for this dopey tour, which seems to be posting its 2018 sked on a month-to-month basis. It would be fairer to handout exemptions to the top Symetra players of 2017.

BTW, Rainer Golf & CC is only about 150 away if you want to check out the May 14 qualifier. Too far. I can't even get the boys to cross the border for a $30 Cdn 4some special at Semiahmoo/Loomis Trails.....and if you fill you car up with gas...the savings more than pays for the return trip gas and the opportunity to buy cheap cheese. Our price of gas here in Van City is equivalent to $4.60 US a gallon and going up further...... a BIG WTF....no thanks to the left wing idiots trying to block the building of a pipeline from Alberta.

The USGA revamped their website...and it looks like they removed the Entrant Status look-up function. They also jacked up the ticket prices over last year...it cost me $100 (before fees & taxes) to attend four days (I chose Tue., Wed., Thu., & Sun.) in 2017. To repeat that schedule in 2018 would cost $113 (before fees & taxes).

The timing is great for USGA to bump the purse for 2018 USWO to $6.0 million, and the winner's share to over a million dollar ($1.08 million).
This would be the one two punch, together with Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship. to kick LPGA into the next gear.

The entrant status is still there, just hidden in this section: champs.usga.org/index.htmlI plugged in a few of the prominent JLPGA rookies and the only name that popped up was Minami Katsu...the deadline is tomorrow. Nothing so far for Davidson (who followed Webb at the 2017 USWO), Zhang, Koiwai, Miura, and Arakaki...they probably think firming up their JLPGA priority status is more important at this time. I'm surprised Athaya Thitikul isn't in. Eun Jeong Seong has entered...haven't seen that name in a while...I guess she is still an amateur, #8 on WAGR.

Although the entry deadline is tomorrow, the LET has already posted a prelim. field list of 77 players for the May 14 qualifier in England. The max field size for this location is 78. Here are a few familiar names to me (and not necessarily for their golf ability):
Minea Blomqvist Carly Booth Amy Boulden Gemma Clews Annabel Dimmock Cloe Frankish C. Hedwall Flic Johnson Kelsey MacDonald C. Matthew Inci Mehmet LA Pace Mel Reid G. Sergas Marianne Skarpnord

Mel Reid is one example why it's important to finish inside Top 75 of the money list.
