People all over the world are supposed to be more tolerant of each other than wild animals. Too bad that is not how it is ! !!!

The Olympic games have begun...yet the opening ceremonies are not until tomorrow....is this the norm? There's so much happening at a typical Olympiad these days that to get it all in before the cauldron is extinguished they do have to start certain events before the Opening Ceremony. Speaking of which, it will be streamed live in the US for the first time ever at 6amET/3amPT on NBCOlympics.com and the NBCSports app, although it will be presented without commentary. If you need that level of hand holding you'll have to wait until primetime at 8pmET/5pmPT with Mike Tirico and Katie Couric. If you're wondering where about the order of march it is determined by the country's spelling in Hangeul. The US will the 26th to enter, sandwiched between Mongolia and Bermuda. Canada will come in 69th just after Kazakhstan and before Kenya.Kevin

Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony Powerfl in its SimplicityFavorite bit: Who would have thought not one but two golfers would be part of the pageantry? (Happyfan: Ah, who indeed? ) The legendary Se Ri Pak, who spawned her nation’s dominance of the women’s game 20 years ago, helped carry in the South Korean flag, and current LPGA star Inbee Park was one of the last to run with the torch inside the stadium. It’s always interesting to see which national sports stars organizers select for these coveted roles. There can be no doubt how much this country loves women’s golf after seeing Pak and Park show up with such significant parts in a winter show.

I guess when your dad has SHAMED the family name...you're treated like dirt. Looks like SYR is just doing lonesome selfies and trolling scalpers row to see what kind of last moment deals she can get for some events to attend....where's the Italian?

Gee wiz, why bother restoring it? Don't they want to have a world-class ski mountain for the future? So I see a bit of coverage of the opening ceremonies...and I'm thinking the stadium looks rather small and do a Wiki to determine it's a 35,000 temporary stadium...that will be later torn down....huh...WTF...why bother?....why not build it so it can be converted it to something with some permanency. More Classic Korean Poor Execution....$78M US to build....duh...$78M could had built A LOT OF GOLF ROBOT FACTORIES and cemeteries named after Se Ri Pak. Ya ya...the original site of the opening ceremony was to be the ski jump area....blah...blah blah. There were many infrastructure improvements made to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics that have all been put to good use. e.g.) The Richmond speed skating oval has not been converted to a pay for use multi-use..... multi-sport recreation center...I went there to watch a friend's daughter gymnastics tournament.

The games should be about the participant not politics.
They are all Koreans anyway. Tell that to your fellow YANKS. So I tune into NBC at 5pm PST....only to hear Tirico and primarily Katie Couric rant about politics...Pence and Kim Jong-un's sister sitting in the same area and the parents of the dead US student who returned from N. Korea to the US...blah....blah...blah. And the for the next 20 minutes...NBC slathering about YANKS White, Vonn and Shifferin. Yet at the same time...CBC is showing mixed curling of S. Korea vs. OAR....we Canucks aren't so insecure to drool over everything Canadian. Oh ya...if you guys think my use of YANKS is so derogatory....listen to the current podcast on lpga.com featuring Sandra Gal and listen to Ron Sirak say Yanks several times.

Saw an article...on the richest Olympians....I was shocked that Vonn's net worth was only $3M...any one else think that's low. Michael Jordan topped the list.

In honor of the Winter Olympics in Korea...I'll wear my Korea hat (I bought for $5 at a flea market) tomorrow when we play golf. I have quite a few autographs on it...need to get Dumbo, Namdalla and CYBORG to sign it but running out of room.
I don't wear it much so it won't fade...besides...The Smiling Buddha need not wear it to attract the hot short skort, pantyhose & knee high Korean ladies to come over to chat with him at the golf course. FIGHTING!

Unfortunately the Vancouver 2010 Olympic cauldron will only be lit twice this year because of sustainability reasons....it cost $5000 for 4 hrs of burn time. In 2014...it was lit 10 times when Canada won gold.

TRULY TRULY PATHETIC....Korea entering the stadium with a unified flag. I'm happy to hear the young generation of S. Korea thinks this unification is complete GARBAGE....#RESPECT
Unlike the PINK SHIRT Millennial's of Canada & Merica...our PC society today has gone too far. What CRAP that Canada is changing our anthem to be gender neutral. STOP THE MADNESS.
