Considering the USGA did nothing to make the set up difficult to favor a white faced player win....length has more so an advantage this week. But I'll go against the grain and think Smile Candy beats SHP. Am's....Seong has the same length advantage over Choi and Hannah and Hannah is more comfortable playing in the US...but I'll stick my neck out for Choi to be the top Am....but it's really is going against the odds. The resident expert is good.....he got 2 of the 3 above right and also said the winner could come from as low as -4 from the 54 hole leaders.

This from WRX....too funny. "Live look at your next president of the USGA. Three cheers for your Open Champion Bethany Lang!!!"

Brittany needed to take off her sunglasses at the trophy presentation....but I'm sure it hid her tears from her laughter being called Bethany from another USGA clown.

πΊπΈπππΊπΈπππΊπΈ Woo Hoo!! Congrats to Brittany Lang!! Big surprise when I finally checked my phone for scores (so busy on golf course, boat ride, picnic . Wow, tough call for Anna Nordquist. Can't wait to watch the tape. I have to hand it to our resident expert on everything - you did call it that Lydia wasn't a shoo in. (Didnt beat my husband, but I did have the low round of the wives

Se Ri's head to head loss against Annika at El Caballero at the 2003 Office Depot was the worst I've felt after going to a tournament. On tv it's Watson at Trump Turnberry in 2009. Then this.

Yeah, pretty much a disaster. I hardly watched the playoff. I only watched the ceremony to see if Bethany was going to say something bad about Obama. Getting to watch SHP hit moon balls for 2 days on pro tracer was the bright spot.

Well that ended in a whimper. At least it was Brittany who won. It's been ages since she had. She's 30 already.
I'm surprised at Lydia's break down in play. She could have held steady and won this.
Amy Yang is such a frustrating player. A lot of opportunities squandered over the years.

Maybe someone with math skills will tally Sung Hyun vs. Bethany from here on out.

Considering Anna handed Lang the trophy....there is a slight hope that Amy may win the USWO one day...a slight one maybe...but it's hard to win the lottery twice.

In fairness to Diana Murphy Brittany and Bethany are very similar. You can't make it up tho. Another botched notification of a rules violation and the President blowing her podium speech. Cmon.

Maybe coming out as the snitch and unburdening herself (under cover pro) has liberated Jody...

I was out and kept myself in blackout mode until I watched the first edited replay on SBS Golf tonight. It was nice not hearing Joe Buck's jackhammer voice. In fact, it was kind of surreal because my thoughts were not being clouded or filtered by English-speaking commentators. So I had a strong reaction when I saw SH Park aim directly at the pin with a hybrid or wood for her 2nd shot at #18 - WHAT THE HELL IS SHE DOING?! WHO'S THE DUMMY ON HER BAG?! WHY ISN'T HE STOPPING HER?! SHE NEEDS DEAN HERDEN! Maybe all the new glowing reviews about her swing from people who never saw her before went to her head...as if she can make EVERY shot (wrong, even Lydia misses shots).
SBS Golf had brief video interviews of Lydia and Nomura talking about the Olympics. I think it was the first time I ever saw Ko Bo Kyeong (Lydia) speak Korean...I wonder if she has an accent. I worry about her going down to that IOC festering garbage dump next month...she's a recognizable and popular world #1, she needs to be protected. I'd applaud Tina if she came up with an excuse to keep her out of there.

I'm watching the playoff on my DVR and am a little miffed that once the USGA learned that there was an issue with Anna on 17 they didn't tell the players to stop while it was under review, since it would have influenced how they played their second shots on 18. The USGA managed to mess this one up but at least Mr Murdoch got what he wanted: an American winning the Open.

You guys will probably laugh if I say this but I had picked Lang as a dark horse. I would not bet my house on her but I has funny feeling about Lydia missing it again. My reason was very simple: Her score card on Saturday was very clean, which means she played smart MENTAL game. Usually she is a mess. Congrats to Lang!
