Dumbo with back issues....I think In Gee was injured last fall too....and I think it was a back issue too...this is not good news. Winbee also has back issues.
Time to call up the KLPGA and get replacements....ASAP.
FWIW...and I know others here have back issues too....I'm old nowadays...lol.....I had lower back issues in 2014....I thought they were gone this summer....only to injure again 1 month ago doing house work....I've recovered....but it's still a bit tight and not totally pain free....ugh.

A bad back at age 21 is not a good sign. Not a good sign at all.

Woo hoo, Mi Hyang is the first player they showed tonight...barely missed an eagle putt at #18 (her ninth hole of the day), settled for birdie, now -3. MHL during Wed. pro-am (gettyimages has the "Jenny Shin" name in the captions of her pix yesterday )

A bad back at age 21 is not a good sign. Not a good sign at all. Totally agree...my back issues started around 50.....and obviously....I didn't beat balls on a daily basis which the pros do to put a beating/strain onto a back....the golf swing is an unnatural movement.

Hmmmm....so who is the young guy on MHL's bag?....a local? I have no clue. In other caddy news, Cheeseburger Chad Payne is now with Lee Anne Pace This was after that ridiculous chip-in birdie by Amy Yang when she rinsed her ball at the par-5 7th...caddy is David Poitevent, one of Yani's past loops Who has The Rocket's bag?

In Gee has more short-game control than I realized. A birdie machine that can get up and down. That's how you get to be #1. Is there a decent argument for her playing the best golf last year? Setting aside 2 majors vs 1 argument, was she playing better more often than anyone? And with the start this year on the LPGA confirming it, I can see how you'd say she's presumptive #1 if she wins this week. Easily.
She tore it up in the minor leagues last year, racking up wins. Her results in the "real" majors last season ? CUT at Evian, T31 at British, 41 at ANA, of course #1 at USWO. Her results at regular LPGA events were also pedestrian.
Sure, I would think her hectic schedule and travelling last year has definitely taken a toll on her. I expect her to play like a top 10 or even a top 5 player in the LPGA this year. But #1 ? Wait till she gets a couple of wins or even another major.
I don't even think you and I are saying different things. But I see as much potential here as I saw with Ko, easily. You might diss In Gee's 'minor league' wins (each Major has several top twenty golfers in the field, but never mind), but it's still a bit more impressive than the wins Ko put up before she joined the tour (including the two Canadian wins). And she certainly has done more than Henderson, and people are already saying Henderson will be duking it out for #1 with Ko for the next decade. Jumping the gun much? There's a good example. Get well soon, In Gee!

A bad back at age 21 is not a good sign. Not a good sign at all. The injuries she had before were neck problems, not lower back. This doesn't sound like a chronic thing (I hope!). Well, the bloom went right off the rose for me during round one. I was really looking forward to seeing if In Gee could make a run at the title here. I feel like this is a course, unlike Thailand, that sets up really well for her game, and her momentum was really strong. Now I just have to hope that whatever happened is a minor thing and she will recover soon and get back to top form. She can't afford to miss too many events if she wants to make the Olympic team. It was a double bummer because they finally put In Gee into a good pairing in round one. As much as I like Minjee, I kept wondering how much more fun it would have been had In Gee been there contesting the lead with her. I'm over it now, though. So on to those left standing. Minjee was looking really solid today, and she handled the wind like a pro. She's getting a little better with her interviews, too. She still is a little stiff, but I can see the potential there for her to be a lot of fun to talk with once she gets more practiced. My happiest moments, though, were seeing Inbee dial in on those long putts. Like a Queen! Especially that one putt late in her round - can't remember the hole - which was like 45 feet, winding, and dropped perfectly on the last roll into the cup. Man, nobody putts like that gal when she's on. Go Inbee! It was also cool to get a Mirim Lee sighting, but alas Ha Na had a really up and down day (too bad; she gets the prime pairing to boot). Thompson looked like she was back to her usual putting level. Keep an eye on Sun Ju Ahn. What if she wins another LPGA event? Would she turn down a card AGAIN? And it's not impossible she could make the Olympics, although she doesn't seem to want to. Hyo Joo Kim is also well placed at 2 under and wants to get back on the team. So Yeon struggling again. Go Sisters!!!

Get well soon, In Gee! When Ko won the 2012 & 2013 CWO's....those fields pretty much had all the top ranked LPGA members present....and the most impressive thing is winning back to back as a 15 & 16 yr old. TonyJ would also verify that the CWO obtains strong fields.....I think he's attended 6 CWO's in a row and likely 7. The ones who generally fawn over The Canadian Princess are the Merican media. With the frequent changing LPGA landscape and up and coming pros...it's hard to say who may or may not contend/dominate on the LPGA tour in the next decade.

Minjee certainly goes under the radar. She always looks good in her Descente apparel. Her distance/length is rarely discussed. I can't believe I was at the CP CWO for 6 days and never watched her play one hole.....the tour is so deep...and I hardly watched any of my tenured fav's neither.

So 1/2 a stroke better last year for IGC. That's a pretty dominant #1 but not crazy. The prior year Hyo Joo Kim led by .75 70.26 vs 71.03 for Ha Na Yang. IGC was 6th at 71.29 Good grief, you guys are hard to please. .5 strokes is a huge margin for scoring average! Hyo Joo had one of the all time great seasons on the KLPGA the previous year, but I'd be willing to bet In Gee's scoring average margin is one of the best in KLPGA history. And keep in mind that she was playing maybe half of her events after getting off a plane from overseas or Japan against players who focused exclusively on Korea for the most part. I loved In Gee since she won the Korean Women's Open in 2013, and thought she was an LPGA quality player even then. But I didn't think she was a truly great prospect until she won the Salonpas Cup last year in May. That was the point where she went from being one of the top KLPGA players to something really special in my eyes. So any stats that happened before were all prelude IMO. Including her first few LPGA events pre-US Women's Open. She really seems to have upped her game and had it all click right around April or May last year. I was surprised she missed the cut at the Evian, the one late season result that seemed puzzling to me. But everyone is allowed a couple bad ones now and then. The British came the week after she won the Hite Cup in Korea; after doing all the press and celebrating, she hops on a plane, flies halfway around the world, and has to play her first event ever on a course like that. Yeah, I'm not surprised it didn't go that well. Get well soon, In Gee!

Singapore must not be a significant tournament, otherwise IGC's handlers would have forced her to play. I don't know who they are but I get the feeling they are going to use her like a dish rag-- the same way Se Ri was exploited at the height of her fame.

Hey, I think I was the one agreeing she could be the presumptive world #1. Pretty dominant but not crazy is fair description if we say "crazy" is a once every 25-35 years thing.
But I was thinking it would be more telling if we whittled it down to a 3 month period to see how much better someone COULD be than the next best or the field. Sort of like you're suggesting took place w/ IGC after May.
Intersting, Lorena lead by a stroke in 07 and 08 but anything more than a few .10th's lead is pretty rare.
