"Creamer hit maybe the shot of the decade with her 75-foot eagle putt two years ago to win in a playoff against Azahara Munoz" Uh, no.... Just no.... How soon we forget Sei Young Kim holing out to win in Hawaii...

An IGC victory would make her the presumptive no. 1 player in the world. I notice SS.com has become a giant love-fest for Dumbo. But #1 in the world ??

No, In Gee won't be No.1 if she wins; not even if she does a Nancy Lopez and wins the next 5 tournaments in a row. But, a win will certainly get her to the top of Player of the Year standing, unless Ha Na comes in second.

From HSBC Women's Champions Facebook page:
[ONE TO ROOT FOR...] So-yeon Ryu is one of the 'Seoul Sisters’ to have made such a big impact on the ladies game in recent years. She turned professional in 2007 and has already won one major title. In 2011 the Korean star won the US Women’s Open, earning her an LPGA tour card and went on to win Rookie of the Year in 2012. You should route for the 25-year-old because she is a fierce competitor on course and charming off it. Can Ryu add the HSBC Women’s Champions title to the three tour titles she already owns?

Of course she will always be my number one player to route for to win. Even if she don't, doesn't change anything. She will always be number one, in my book.

But, a win will certainly get her to the top of Player of the Year standing, unless Ha Na comes in second. Well, in the first two events, In Gee has the same record as Lydia Ko, and a better scoring average. Seriously, though, she's not #1 yet. But boy, does she have potential. In 2008, Jiyai Shin won 10 worldwide tournaments. By 2010, she was #1 in the world. In Gee's 8 wins in 2015 was the most any Korean has achieved in a single pre-LPGA season since Shin. I can't wait to see how far she can take it. Hopefully to the toppermost of the poppermost, as they say.

In Gee has more short-game control than I realized. A birdie machine that can get up and down. That's how you get to be #1. Is there a decent argument for her playing the best golf last year? Setting aside 2 majors vs 1 argument, was she playing better more often than anyone? And with the start this year on the LPGA confirming it, I can see how you'd say she's presumptive #1 if she wins this week. Easily.

I compared So Yeon's swing on Instagram. The one she posted with Inbee in Las Vegas to her recent post. Her new driver takeaway is wider and higher. I hope it doesn't cause her to have to reroute the downswing.

She tore it up in the minor leagues last year, racking up wins. Her results in the "real" majors last season ? CUT at Evian, T31 at British, 41 at ANA, of course #1 at USWO. Her results at regular LPGA events were also pedestrian.
Sure, I would think her hectic schedule and travelling last year has definitely taken a toll on her. I expect her to play like a top 10 or even a top 5 player in the LPGA this year. But #1 ? Wait till she gets a couple of wins or even another major.

So I'd say if you were comparing the 20th best player on either tour it's no contest, but if you're comparing the top say, 3, it's interesting. I think I also put less weight on majors than others when determining the "best player" and more on things like scoring average.
