The JLGPA marathon kicks off in three weeks (March 3 thru 6) at the Ryukyu GC in Okinawa. The event was changed from three days to four days and the course was lengthened from 6529 to 6649. Extra play means extra money...the purse increased from Y100M to Y120M. The field hasn't been posted, but a press announcement listed a few big names who will show up, including defending champ Lu, Bo Mee, JY Shin, Kikuchi, Morita, Oyama, Narita, Watanabe, O Sattaya, and U.S.-based C. Arimura & A. Uehara.
The LPGA will be in Singapore the same week, but with only a field of 63 (unless they plan to increase it this year).

The final field hasn't been posted yet. However, if you visit Haneda airport (half-way between Tokyo and Yokohama), you'll be clued in on the entire 2016 JLPGA schedule. Maybe this is the tour that should be saying "see why it's different out here".

Was Smile Candy indeed qualified or invited to the HSBC?? Any Rolex top 20 at end of 2015 is automatically qualified, but 2 out 20 declined including Bo Mee.

Go Jiyai! In an interview in the Korean press earlier this week, she said her big goal this year is to win the JLPGA money list title. She's coming to get you, Smile Candy!

JY Shin will try to take advantage when BML is away playing the ANA or some other big foreign event. My Japanese source took forever to post early pix from Round Three, but they're coming through now. Erika Kikuchi appears to be using the 2016 model of the Titleist VG3 driver. Akane Iijima signed with OnOff this year...maybe for the irons only, as she is holding a Honma driver Bo Mee Lee and Kotono Kozuma
