When the Olympics returns to LA, I think they will have the golf at Griffith Park--after a substantial remodel. Hopefully by then, the kinks will be ironed out and the field will be stronger than a Symetra Tour event. Match play is the only way to determine a true champion in the Olympics.

The Olympics should have the best players in the world. There will be some great players at the Olympics but there are plenty who don't belong and couldn't cash a check on any tour. The tournament should be the US vs. Korea--that would be compelling.
It is a second rate event similar to a silly season limited field tournament hosted by Greg Norman or Tiger Woods.
However, Whan might be tempted to make it a major if he can get some kickbacks.

If you are saying the 2016 field is Symetra like, I disagree. The field is quite strong. I totally agree that match play should be used. At least we have the International Crown this year. Tony Stop being so gullible to fanofseri's sarcasm...lol. The problem with match play is that if top ranked pros get bounced and don't advance.....many people stop watching

This isn't really a tournament article, so I moved it to 19th Hole. Please also be aware that there is another thread keeping track of the Olympic qualifying for the Sisters. This category is broader, so it's OK to have both threads I think. /admin hat off

They'll have plenty of talent there in Rio still.
