Bo Mee should come over here. So should Sun Ju Ahn and Jiyai Shin. They are too good not to be on the premier women's tour. Did it work out well for her? Sure. But she has top ten in the world potential, and IMO with her talent she should want to see how far she can fly. Trying to figure out what players from the KLPGA will play the ANA. I would love to see Sung Hyun Park play. Seem like a course she could shine on.

There are rumours in Japan that after the Rio Olympics Ai will be returning to the JLPGA in 2017. I for one think that would be great and to see Ai and Bo-mee fight it out would be a huge boom for the JLPGA. John, nice to have you here; you brought many valuable information to the forum. Are you fluent in Japanese by chance? Yes and No, I taught In English in Japan in the mid 90's when the JLPGA was booming! I recall many a weekend watching the leading lights in Mayumi Hirase and Akiko Fukushima who both competed in America and won duel it out. This being a Seoul sister forum the leading korean at the time was Ok-hee Ku and Woo-soon Ko. I guess that is why i have such interest in the JLPGA.

Don So answer me this...why have we not seen more top Japanese female stars on the LPGA? I think there is a whole bunch of reasons as to why they don't go over. Pro's of staying home, - Impressive Schedule
- Prize Money
- Playing at Home
- Endorsement Opportunities
- Familiarity with Courses
Con's of playing in America - Language/ Cultural Barriers
- Tournament Schedule i.e weeks of between tournaments
- Away from Home and Family
- Lack of Belief.
- Competition
The difference between the KLPGA and JLPGA players? from what i can see the KLPGA players believe in themselves and know they belong, that is they don't doubt themselves.
Just look at Sakura Yokomine and Chie Arimura, they both have done great things in Japan but really not much in America - these two are quality players but i just get the sense they are overawed and think they are not good enough!
The only reason they are there is to get on the Olympic team because the points are higher in America towards Rolex Rankings. I think Sakura left it to long to play in America and i get the impression that Chie will be back in Japan next year.

Don So answer me this...why have we not seen more top Japanese female stars on the LPGA? Let me try- because Japanese players sucks, and they know it. They can't even defend their home turf and have become bxxxhes to 2nd tier Korean players who themselves don't dare to try the LPGA. Top KLPGA players come over to kick ass in the LPGA. Veterans Japanese players like Yokomine comes over simply to fulfill their LPGA dream.

Another player with Bo Mee Lee in Indio is Eun Jeong Kim(R)...never heard of her before...she played the KLGPA's big tour in 2009, then was relegated to the Dream Tour where she has remained. Her Instagram is supergirl1606. scontent-lga3-1.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/s640x640/sh0.08/e35/c0.112.899.899/12552244_571954552958609_1052974930_n.jpg?ig_cache_key=MTE4MzA3MTg2NTA5NTY1ODA1Mg%3D%3D.2.c*********** Regarding Japanese vs. Korean players, what I noticed many years ago was how the Japanese swings were more idiosyncratic with odd positions and movements. Sakura Yokomine is a good example. I disagree with a prior comment that said hasn't been successful on the LPGA tour...actually she has picked up some nice checks over here. But, it seems like whenever they show her on TV, she's hitting a clunky shot into the wrong place. Of course, she doesn't do it often, but I don't think her swing is reliable enough to win in the U.S. on tougher courses and against better players.

This. These two along with others lack belief too. Sharon has said she wants to play on the LPGA tour...but has yet to sign up for a LPGA Q-School. Sky registered for 2013 Q-School but WD's due to a KLPGA conflict.....she has since lost her game and hasn't registered for Q-School since.

Speaking of odd position of Japanese swings. I saw Yuri Fudoh play the I believe the Kraft Nabisco or Dinah Shore. Her swing were the same as Sakura's, yet she won about 46 JLPGA Tournaments Tried to transfer a video of her swing from YouTube, but couldn't.
When I was playing golf in Maui Hawii late eighties . Most of the Japanese Ladies that were playing there, had similar swings.

18Majors Do you think Rory knew of SYR previously?
I'm surprised he's playing Riviera.

18Majors Do you think Rory knew of SYR previously? I'm surprised he's playing Riviera. Rory lives for competition; especially sports, all kind of sports. In 2011, he sought out and befriended then WTA No.1 Caroline Wozniacki. Rory definitely knows Stacy Lewis, they were photoed together for Players of the Year for both 2012 and 2014. Rory and Michelle Wie tweet each other, both are Nike stars and Jupiter Bear's Club members. I've no idea whether Rory knew of So Yeon before they met yesterday, but my hunch is that he is aware of her but didn't know much about her. The same can be said about Jordan Spieth about In Gee Chun. It's a no brainer Rory plays Riviera this week; because he always wanted to play Riviera and this year all roads lead to the Masters. A Masters win to complete his career slam, is probably worth more than winning 2 of the other 3 majors.
