Quick turnaround this week as the tournament starts this WEDNESDAY - seems there's some big sporting event this Sunday nearly everyone steers clear of but since I haven't cared about gridiron football in 30 years I don't see what the fuss is about.
Anyway, after I did not suck in the season opener I now have to pull out the calculator and tally sheets for another year. As always your Top 12 along with three alternates needs to be submitted here no later than 1200GMT/7amEST/4amPST Wednesday 3 February. Good luck, everyone!www.lpga.com/tournaments/coatesgolfchampionshippresentedbyrlcarriers/final-fieldKevin

And they're off!!
They just managed to get all 120 players around before it got REALLY dark. Kind of silly that they were playing LC&P in anticipation of bad weather that never came; we'll see what happens Thursday.
The world #1 is the only unanimous selection this week. The full list of our favorites this week in descending order of popularity:17: Lydia Ko 16: Stacy Lewis 15: Hyo Joo Kim, Sei Young Kim 14: Ha Na Jang 13: So Yeon Ryu 10: Brittany Lincicome, Anna Nordqvist, Lexi Thompson 9: Paula Creamer, Amy Yang 7: In Gee Chun, Charley Hull, Alison Lee, Minjee Lee 6: Na Yeon Choi, Brooke Henderson 5: Jessica Korda, Ilhee Lee 4: Pornanong Phatlum 2: Mika Miyazato, Morgan Pressel 1: Jaye Marie Green, Ariya Jutanugarn, Brittany Lang, Xi Yu Lin, Azahara Munoz, Haru Nomura, Suzann Pettersen, Jenny Shin Of the seventeen golfers in the Table of Points just six were on the scorecards of our seventeen contestants this week. In the 404 report newbie marcii erroneously had just ten main selections so his first two alternates came into the frame. Fortunately for him one of them was Sei Young Kim.
Canlinny picked up right where she left off last week as one of five PakPickers to have five scoring selections. Shung has the early lead over her at this stage, however.PAKPICKER STANDINGS

With the weather on Thursday curtailing play the golfers had been playing catch up the rest of the week to get the event completed by sunset Saturday. That same weather made its way up the coast Friday and it initially started here in New England as rain but as it got colder it changed to a heavy wet snow, and here in central Mass. we got close to a foot of it, so driving through it wasn't fun. With my enthusiasm sufficiently diminished I couldn't keep up with the scoring and with the tournament over the 2nd and 3rd round splits, which occurred Friday and Saturday mornings, are no longer available on the Tour's website so you're only getting the final summary today.
Rant over: on to the important details. Of the fourteen PakPickers who selected first time winner Ha Na Jang I was one of two who matched that placing. Unfortunately I didn't have much else go right for me so you can all see where I ended up.
At the other end of the scale three contestants had six scoring selections apiece so not surprisingly they comprise the podium this week. Placement points mattered: shung was alone among those three in not picking runner up Brooke Henderson so by the narrowest possible margin the Saint gets the win.Position. Contestant Score (# of scoring selections)
1. Saint-Just X 69.75 (6) 2. shung 69.50 (6) 3. olamin 61.75 (6) 4. canlinny 58.00 (5) 5. marcii 57.50 (5) 6. tonyj5 55.25 (5) 7. centurion 50.50(5) 8. Verdant Garden 48.50 (5) 9. tatkins 47.50 (4) 10. cannuck 46.00 (4) --- Golfing Grammy 46.00 (4)
12. dennis 45.00 (4) 13. Schoolteacher Cindy 44.50 (4) 14. baggerbob 42.75 (5) 15. GD Smyth 39.25 (3) 16. ghinhee 39.00 (3) 17. IceCat 38.00 (3) The Tour is off the next two weeks before it resumes Down Under with the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open near Adelaide. Since the state of South Australia is in one of those weird 1/2 hour offset time zones and also observes daylight savings time it currently lies 10.5 hours ahead of GMT, so 7am Thursday in Adelaide means 2030GMT Wednesday, 3:30PM Wednesday in Boston and 12:30pm Wednesday in Seattle, so adjust your thinking accordingly. My thinking seems to need an intervention if this week's result is anything to go by. The plea for more scorers is open ended so please contact the committee if interested.Kevin
