Round 2: Sung Hyun Park Still Leads; Chun and Kim Lurking
In the morning wave, In Gee Chun and Hyo Joo Kim, still playing together, made a big run. Kim shot a 68 to move to 10 under and the lead. Chun also shot a 68, moving to 7 under, which was third at the time. She wound up tied for fourth. In the afternoon, overnight leader Sung Hyun Park had some ground to make up. It took her a while, but she eventually got on a roll and shot a 68 of her own to establish a 2-shot lead over the defending champion Hyo Joo Kim. Another notable score was the 67 shot by Gyeol Park. She is tied for fourth with Chun. Shi Yu Ting and Weiwei Zhang are top Chinese golfers: they are -3, tied for 18th. One more day! Scores: 1. Sung Hyun Park 68 -12 2. Hyo Joo Kim 68 -10 3. From Round 2...I knew you were going to ask that...and I had the same question. I watched the first two hours of Round Two live until my connection crapped out...Muni was shown in one of the highlighted groups.

Thx Phil...nice pic....in some pics Muni looks great...in some not so much....like all...she's likely better looking in real life.
I think Muni should ask for an invite to Dubai next year....I'm sure the 'boys' will enjoy her company in the palaces. And I'm sure Muni won't go crying like Spiranac that maybe golf is not her future career.
Too bad Muni didn't get an invite to the CP CWO...she use to play at nearby Swaneset and all the Chinese fanboys would have showed up.
Shanshan really demolished the field.
Maybe pros like Lexi, Belen, Tutta, Ryann, Lang who always work should follow Winbee and SS Feng's work out routine...."Yes I'll take a combo #3 followed by a nice piece of cake and ice cream."

Final Round: Sung Hyun Park claims First Win of 2016 Season
Sung Hyun Park started the day with a two shot lead over Hyo Joo Kim. But Kim has won three straight events played in China, and four overall. There was every reason to believe she could do it again. And for a while, it looked like win #5 was in her future. Kim climbed to 15 under by the tenth hole, while Park stalled at even for the day. This gave Hyo Joo a three shot lead. Meanwhile, In Gee Chun, playing in the group before them, went three under on the front nine to move to 10 under. She was trying to end her KLPGA career with a win. Kim's fortunes took a huge turn on the 12th hole. She made double bogey there, cutting her lead to a shot. At the same time, Chun made a birdie, moving her to within two shots of Kim. Game on! Kim rebounded with a birdie on 13, but Park also made one, keeping the gap a single shot. On 14, Hyo Joo left herself a 20 footer for birdie, which she just missed. Park made her 6 footer, and they were tied at 14 under. Chun tried to make it a three horse race. On 16, she hit her approach to two feet and made birdie to go to 12 under. But that was as far as she got. She made a clutch up and down on 17, but on 18 she hit her drive into tough rough and wound up making bogey. She finished solo fourth. Meanwhile, Park turned on the jets. On 15, she hit her tee shot to a foot, while Hyo Joo ended up in a bunker and could not get up and down. Two shot swing. Hyo Joo had a chance to make up that ground on 16 when Park had a horseshoe lipout of her birdie. Kim's try was from about five feet, but she missed. Still two down. How well were things going for Park? On 17, she hit a mediocre iron to the middle of the green, but the ball bumped into a slope that took the ball 90 degrees left and right up next to the hole. Kim made en eight foot birdie there, but Park made the gimme, too, so maintained her two shot lead. One more birdie on 18, and Sung Hyun Park had a 67 and a two shot win. It was her fourth win this year, and gets her set up well for the 2016 campaign on the KLPGA tour. Congrats to her! Action should start again in April! Scores: 1. Sung Hyun Park 67 -17 2. Hyo Joo Kim 67 -15 3. Su Yeon Jang 68 -12 4. In Gee Chun 68 -11 5. Song Yi Ahn 70, Gyeol Park 71, Ji Yeon Park 68 -8 Notables: 8. Min Sun Kim 5 69 -7 10. Seon Woo Bae 68 -6 13. Yu Ting Shi (low Chinese) 70 -5 16. Hye Youn Kim 70, Bo Kyung Kim 71 -4 19. Yan Jing 66, Ran Hong 69, Shin Ae Ahn 71, Min Young Lee 71, Muni He (A) 71, Ji Hee Kim 70 -3 34. Char Young Kim 69 -1 38. Congratulation to Sung Hyun. She is at the top of her game now. Who knows, maybe she will carry it into next year. She could have a year similar to In Gee's this year. But it will be very hard for her to accomplish what In Gee did. Great finish by In Gee, even though she had to be a little fatigued. Kudos to Hyo Joo.

I thought this event was HJK's by the 10th hole...and SHP....just stepped on the pedal and never looked back. I like how SHP hit a lower 50 yard pitch into 18 and drained the 6 footer when it meant nothing....she got killed with the water shower.
SHP will be the next bada*s to come out of the KLPGA....I hope a bunch either win on the LPGA or go to 2016 LPGA Q school...so they can show up the Yank diva's in 2017. Actually, some of the diva's are becoming a non-factors...MW, The Pink Diva.
I think SHP has WinBee's demeanor...she's a more athletic version of Inbee.
I still can't believe Dumbo didn't get Dean Herdin to loop for her after the USWO and talk with Seo that Dean would be leaving her. HJK now has Dean, IMO....I think Dumbo is too soft...and this will prevent her from being in the Big 3...she's got to get some of that 'step on your throat' attitude....both SYR and Dumbo need to hang out with Winbee more....though SYR's friendship with Inbee hasn't panned out to help her win more.
I'm disappointed Muni He didn't light it up to gain more coverage....although I saw her on 18 in the 2nd rd.
Go China Go.....they play in China and Dumbo, HJK and SHP contend to get good coverage. The rooms are fairly cheap at Mission Hills...the golfing...not so much. Lots of wind on Sunday.

I was looking up SHP's golf swing an a famous SKor archer by the same name popped up instead. I didn't realize the best archers in the world were the SKor women's team. 7 golds in a row. This country turns out amazing female athletes. What else do the specialize in? Skating events I guess.

Unless a bunch of Koreans show up in 2017....it will be another weak ROY race in 2017....the only Am that might be worth coming up is Hannah O'Sullivan....maybe....I don't know if Maguire is all that special. I think the LPGA will be the same old same old from to 2015 to 2016.....with the compressed schedule due to the Olympics...more chance for some lower ranked pros to pull out a win....ala...Tamulis.

Congratulate Dumbo did last KLPGA tour great, although she missed 18th fairway of last round during USWO, KEB, and this event.

There are so many golfers I'm interested in watching play right now. SYK, Amy Yang, Hyo-Joo Kim, Minjee Lee, Brooke H, Charley Hull, Austin Ernst, Ciganda. Then the pending matchup of the century between Lydia and In Gee. If you project out 5 years what 5 players will have the most wins? Lydia, Lexi, SYK, In Gee and Brooke for me. Tough call tho, maybe Minjee, Inbee, SHPark are in there.
