These type of team event is only exciting when there are nationalism or rivalry involved. I won't be surprised if they each concede 20 footer to each other to finish early and go to Korean BBQ and karaoke together. If it was JLPGA Vs KLPGA, maybe, but I think these LPGA players want to come home and prove they're the best in the world. I know, if I was playing on a foreign Tour for most of the year, and I came home to play in an event against players who primarily play at home, I'm going to want to prove how great I am. That's especially true for Inbee, fresh off her Hall of Fame clinch. http://instagram.com/p/-gFLf4QPLn The LPGA players I expect to, perhaps, be a bit lax, would be Sei Young and Hyo Joo - players who may be a year or two removed from the KLPGA Tour.

Is there a purse to this event? If not...it's an easy way for the Korean LPGA pros to get their expenses paid ( I assume someone is forking out the money) for to venture back to visit family and friends in S. Korea too. Ya gotta give the Asian pros credit...when they have some time off they don't go to the hair salon, mall, etc....but continue playing for the fans. Hmmmm....I wonder how many Yank diva's would travel 1/2 across the globe to go home to play the Symetra tour.

Here's a video clip that just turned up (in Korean): Finally....a nice looking trophy for a S. Korean event. BUT It looks like a larger copy of the WBO trophy...and we all thought the Chinese were the masters at knock-off products....it would not surprise me if the trophy was made in a Chinese sweatshop. All of our OEM driver heads are built by 8 year old Chinese children in forging plants.

Day One
The KLPGA is giving it a go at least. After day one, the score is LPGA 4, KLPGA 2, but they managed to go all square against the LPGA's best team of Inbee Park and So Yeon Ryu! And all the matches went to the final hole except the fourth one, where Hyo Joo and Q Baek romped over Jung Min Lee and Ji Hyun Kim. Hee Young Park/Ha Na Jang 1 up over Seon Woo Bae/Bo Kyung Kim Mirim Lee/Mi Hyang Lee 1 up over Gyeol Park/Min Sun Kim 5 Il Hee Lee/Jenny Shin lose 1 down to Hae Rym Kim/Yeun Jeong Seo Hyo Joo Kim/Q Baek 3 & 2 over Jung Min Lee/Ji Hyun Kim Chella Choi/Sei Young Kim halved Sung Hyun Park/Shin Ae Ahn Inbee Park/So Yeon Ryu halved Yoon Ji Cho/Jin Young Ko Match 1 Hee Young Park w/ Ha Na Jang Seon Woo Bae & Bo Kyung Kim Match 2 Mi Hyang Lee Mirim Lee Gyeol Park w/ Min Sun Kim Min Sun Kim w/ Bo Kyung Kim Match 3 Il Hee Lee Hae Rym Kim Yeun Jeong Seo Match 4 Hyo Joo Kim w/ Q Baek Match 5 Chella Choi w/ Sei Young Kim Shin Ae Ahn Match 6 Inbee Park w/ Bo Kyung Kim w/ So Yeon Ryu So Yeon Ryu

Mi Hyang and Sharon are undefeated. I think that's Dean Herden on the bag for HJ Kim Sung Hyun Park nearly drove the green of the par-4 15th (300 yards): Saturday Foursomes: 1. Yoon Jii Cho & Jung Min Lee vs. Winbee & Ryu 2. Gyeol Park & Sharon vs. Q Baek & Mirim Lee 3. Yeon Jeong Seo & Sun Woo Bae vs. The Rocket & Chella 4. It would be a better tournament if they wore uniforms.

It would be a better tournament if they wore uniforms. They did the equivalent in Round Two...KLPGAers had mostly white tops and red pants, while the LPGAers went for navy blues and blacks. Unfortunately, Bo Kyung Kim missed a medium-range birdie putt at #18 to win her match, but had to settle for a tie. That means the LPGA leads 7.5 to 4.5 going into Sunday. A 7-5 lead would have made the single matches more interesting...now the team result looks like a foregone conclusion (it probably was from the beginning).

Every time that I try MBC Korea live. I get a warning that's it's a dangerous site. I also get a message to upgrade my flash player. I have the latest update. I tried all the different MBC sites.
Does anyone else have that problem.

Are there any Americans on the LPGA team? Seems like that would help even the playing field.

Day 3: LPGA Wins 14-10
There were some surprises on day three, when they played the singles matches. Perhaps the biggest was that Sung Hyun Park shellaqued world #2 Inbee Park 5 & 3, the most lopsided win all day. Other LPGA stars who lost include Ha Na Jang, who lost the first match against Jin Young Ko, and Mirim Lee, who lost to Min Sun Kim. But almost everything else seemed to go the LPGA's way. Sei Young Kim, So Yeon Ryu, Mi Hyang Lee and Hyo Joo Kim all won; only Ryu had any problem in her win. Hee Young Park, Chella Choi and Q Baek halved their matches. So, in the end not a surprising result, but it turned out to be a better match than most expected. I hope all these ladies enjoy their deserved time off! So Yeon Ryu was chosen the MVP Scoreboard: 1 Ha Na Jang loses to Jin Young Ko 1Down 2 Sei Young Kim 3 & 2 over Yeun Jeong Seo 3 Q Baek HALVED Bo Kyung Kim 4 Il Hee Lee lost 1down to Gyeol Park 5 Jenny Shin 1up over Seon Woo Bae 6 Mirim Lee lost 2 & 1 to Min Sun Kim 5 7 Hee Young Park HALVED Jung Min Lee 8 Chella Choi HALVED Shin Ae Ahn 9 Mi Hyang Lee 3 & 2 over Ji Hyun Kim 10 Hyo Joo Kim 3 & 2 over Hae Rym Kim 11 So Yeon Ryu 2up over Yoon Ji Cho 12 Inbee Park lost 5 & 3 to Sung Hyun Park 1 Ha Na Jang loses to Jin Young Ko 1Down 2 Sei Young Kim 3 & 2 over Yeun Jeong Seo 3 Q Baek HALVED Bo Kyung Kim 4 Il Hee Lee lost 1down to Gyeol Park 5 Jenny Shin 1up over Seon Woo Bae 6 Mirim Lee lost 2 & 1 to Min Sun Kim 5 7 Hee Young Park HALVED Jung Min Lee 8 Chella Choi HALVED Shin Ae Ahn 9 Mi Hyang Lee 3 & 2 over Ji Hyun Kim 10 Hyo Joo Kim 3 & 2 over Hae Rym Kim 11 So Yeon Ryu 2up over Yoon Ji Cho 12 Inbee Park lost 5 & 3 to Sung Hyun Park Congrats So Yeon Ryu on winning the MVP! LPGA Wins!

Thanks Phil.
Congratulation to both LPGA and KLPGA. Also MVP So Yeon She won against a very good golfer in Yoon Ji Cho.
I think Sung Hyun Park and Min Sun5 Kim could make the move to the LPGA and maybe win early. Especially if they set the courses up like the CME Group Tournament. Which they probably will. Short par fives with minimal trouble.
