If the golfer far left had shanked one. The golfer right of her would be in the hospital or worse.

I had to get up early because the next replay isn't until Monday 3PM (Korea time). Bo Mee bagged #6 (14th for her career), broke the Y200M barrier and clinched the money title. Teresa Lu still has the scoring average lead with two events left. SBS Golf picked up the action with BML in the last group at the 14th hole. Erika Kikuchi was out of it, but she dropped a hybrid stone dead about one inch short of the hole at the par-3 17th of 197 yards (an ace would have gotten her a Y5M bonus). Lu was one group ahead and birdied #17, but gave it back with an aggressive approach at #18 that was wet. Serena Aoki could have made it more dramatic if she had gone flag hunting at #18, but she bailed out way right and settled for par. more pics and video on my blog: Bo-Mee Lee Wins 2015 Ito En Ladies Golf Tournament, Feted For Capturing JLPGA Season Money TitleBo-Mee LeeWhat a season it has been for South Korea’s Bo-Mee Lee on the LPGA of Japan (JLPGA). She was brilliant yet again in seizing the 2015 Ito En Ladies Golf Tournament with a wire to wire victory. Bo-Mee threw down a first round 7-under 65 on her way to a 14-under 2 shot win. It’s her 6th JLPGA title of the year and 14th of her career. At only 27 years old, Lee should have many great seasons ahead of her. Season rival Teresa Lu was darn good herself with an opening round 6-under 66 followed by back to back 2-under 70 rounds. But that would only be good enough for a tie for 3rd at 10-under. With her 18 million Yen first prize (around $147,000 USD), Bo-Mee vaults past the 200 million Yen mark (over $1.6 million USD) for the 2015 season. She even received two money list cakes. Pardon me, I know this is the JLPGA and the pronunciation in Japanese is different but I have to translate the writing on the cake to Chinese. It really doesn’t matter, the meaning is the same. One cake says (in Mandarin Chinese) shang jin (賞金) “prize money/reward” and the other says nu wang (女王) “queen”. 1 BO-MEE LEE (-14) 2 SERENA AOKI (-12) T3 TERESA LU (-10) T3 KOTONE AOKI (-10)

BKB Why so much fanfare for the JLPGA vs. the other tours? I am not sure if you're asking me why I think the JLPGA gets so much love from its fans or you're asking me why I post more about the JLPGA than the LPGA...so I will take a guess that it's the latter question. Well, I'm not posting any more than I have in past years about the JLPGA. I have covered that tour for years. Even LPGA.com has some links to old stories I've posted. What's changed this year is that I haven't posted much about the LPGA. Still following just not posting. Several reasons: 1. Time and Tennis. I've always been a HUGE tennis fan. That's occupied a lot of my time. I might only post about the WTA, but I follow the ATP as well (unlike in golf where I love the LPGA and more or less ignore the PGA...yes, I'm a unicorn!) 2. Original Seoul Sisters gone. I'm a fan of the LPGA because of Grace Park and Se Ri. Grace is gone and Se Ri seems practically gone. 3. All Thaied Up. With Grace gone, my new favorite player is Ariya Jutanugarn. But honestly, I would just take any player representing Thailand to get a win. This was a personal year for me. I wanted so badly for Ariya to shine this year. Every time I checked the leaderboard and saw she was struggling yet again...painful. I talked about this in one of the threads. Seoul Sister fans start sweating if the Sisters go 6 tournaments without a win. Yeah...well try going 0 for Forever in winning. Waen's title is unofficial. With all due respect to the Wongluekiet (Song) sisters, Moriya and her ROY season (in a weak year) and the newly married Virada Nirapathpongporn, for the first time I thought in Ariya that Thailand finally had a player with the tools and talent to challenge the very best the LPGA had to offer. Whether she won Rookie of the Year or not, she was going to be a force on the LPGA. That so did not happen. She made a little bit of a push at the end of the year but too little too late...and even finishing top 40 on the money list...look, that's not what I call challenging the very best of the LPGA. I think you can tell by my response that it was a little of #1, a little of #2 and whole lot of #3. What little time I could have used to post about the LPGA...I just didn't have the energy for after seeing Ariya have week after week after week of play far beneath what I imagined she was capable of...so for me, early on in the year I lost the heart for posting about the LPGA while Ariya was struggling...I just wanted 2015 to end and recharge and reboot for 2016 and a return to LPGA posting next year. ...hmmmm, I see my hiatus from posting about the LPGA has not diminished my penchant for being longwinded!!! LOL! p.s. I will cover several of the LPGA players when I do my yearly WTA/LPGA money list countdown after the CME...like I said, still watching and following the tour...

BKB The question was directed at you. I was just curious why you do such a detailed summary of JLPGA vs. minimal for the LPGA, KLPGA, LET or Symetra.
Obviously everyone can chose how and who they want to cheer for. But considering golf is mainly an individual sport....I don't get why so many get amp'd up on pros based on their country of origin vs. them being individuals.
I have favs from many countries and I don't get all jacked up over Brooke, SS Feng, Xi Yu Lin because I'm a Canadian born Chinese...in fact I've never cared for Lorie Kane and I really don't have any fanfare for Weirsy.
IMO...Ariya's lack of course mgmt will hold her back...others within forums have stated her childish behavior on the course and I witnessed it on the driving range at the CP CWO. My fav Thai is Porna.

IMO...Ariya's lack of course mgmt will hold her back...others within forums have stated her childish behavior on the course and I witnessed it on the driving range at the CP CWO. My fav Thai is Porna. ...that's fine...people are different...a lot of people do care about things like nationality...remember, the reason we are in this particular forum right now is that one day HappyFan decided to start a Seoul Sister website...a site devoted to women golfers of Korean nationality or Korean heritage...and there are things like Solheim Cup, Ryder Cup, Fed Cup, Davis Cup...things that bring out the flag and patriotism when they occur...in fact, I did blog during the Solheim Cup... ...so yes, the Thai players have a special place in my heart...and above all of them right now is Ariya...it actually depressed me at times to see her struggling...that's not a good frame of mind in which to post blog entries...remember that the majority of my posts are lifted from my blog...depending on the sources of media (non-Zimbio sources are the problem) and if I have to download, re-upload and use two hyperlinks (small version and large version) to my flickr for each photo, it can take me hours to do an entry that takes a minute to read...the two Fed Cup post I did took me probably a combined 5 hours to complete because I had to use non-Zimbio sources...when I do that, I can't trust the source link will go dead soon, so I put the photos on flickr for long term storage...so when Ariya started playing poorly, I was in no mood to post about the LPGA...once that went on for a month or so, it didn't seem to make any sense to start posting midway through the year...of course, I won't lie...had Michelle Wie won a title, I'd have weighed in on that... ...look, I've only been an LPGA fan since 1998...so not as long as others here...but in those 17 years, not having even one official Thai win is like a maddening itch I can't scratch...funny thing is, I started seriously following the tour because of Thai-American Jenny Chausiriporn....I sporadically checked in on the LPGA because I was intrigued by the then Annika vs Karrie budding rivalry...then I noticed Jenny's last name at the 98 US Open...knew right away she was of Thai heritage...rooted like crazy for her to win, but Se Ri Pak had other plans on that...at first, I was quite vexed by Se Ri winning...but I chose to stay and follow the tour...Se Ri seemed like such a great person that she won me over and I became a big fan...then Grace and Peanut came...I was hooked... ...by the way, I haven't forgotten Stacy Prammanasudh's wins...like me, she is of partial Thai heritage...but her wins go under the American flag...that's all good...I'm just gnashing my teeth waiting for 1 win under the Thai flag...honestly, if Ariya ever had, say, a 5-shot lead going into a final round, I might drop everything I'm doing, hop on a plane (I hate flying) and go wherever she is so I could be there to see the win in person...assuming she held on to win... let me be clear...I like the majority of players on the LPGA tour...but Ariya is on another level...maybe only Grace and Virada have been on that level for me...but she's not the only player I like nor are Thai players the only ones I root for...you've seen my posts over the years...you know that...but right now, Ariya is the only player that when she's playing poorly, my love for the LPGA dims...

I have favs from many countries and I don't get all jacked up over Brooke, I miss the Canadian Princess; too bad one of the recent Asian tournaments didn't try to squeeze her into their field. I assume she graduated H.S., right? Her Twitter indicates she signed up with BMW...they gave her an X5.
