I wish I could be happier for SJA, but yet another close but no cigar finish for May and Waen. It's great. Seoul Sister win...add that to the other hundred and whatever victories...is it 200 yet? I've lost track. Waen, as I suspected, didn't have that final round magic...May went 8-under to snare a top 5 but too little, too late.
Honestly, if it were going to be a JLPGA player to win here, I would have rooted for somebody who at least would exercise the option to come to the States next year. Sun Ju Ahn is an amazing player and I do give her praise not only for this win but for what we've seen her accomplish in her stellar career. But if she isn't interested in coming to the States, then I'd have preferred another JLPGA player with LPGA aspirations win this week and SJA win some other event like a JLPGA Major.
But on second thought, as I write this, maybe I have little issue with SJA winning. Even if she doesn't want to come Stateside, for her career resume she can say that she has an LPGA victory. That is something she will carry with her beyond her playing career...so in that sense it's all good.

I didn't get any of the results I wanted, either. First, I was rooting for Ha Neul, but it became very apparent very quickly that she didn't have it today. So then I was rooting for Jiyai, who got off to a really hot start, but cooled down too quickly. Finally, in the playoff, I was rooting for Ji-Hee Lee. It would have been a great accomplishment for Ji-Hee to win it after all these years, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. Still, a worthy champion. www.vavel.com/en-us/golf-en/564483-sun-ju-ahn-wins-toto-japan-classic.html

Come on guys...quit rooting for a pro going into the final rd....it never works and just jinxing her....yes you know who I'm talking about....the lovely SKY....who likely would have taken LPGA membership if she won and would have created some new Merican fanboys.

Angela Stanford has taken the lead - I hear some posters freaking out! Tell me about it....with all the bad karma set up by the other posters...they nearly handed Stanford the win.

Best tournament of the year. Im at Mulligans, a good bar in north San Clemente. No ladies golf on tv here. I looked up Mulligans...it has great reviews on Yelp. I miss the trashy, greasy spoon dumps common in Merica....cheap and good food and booze....regrettably we are void of these hangouts here in the frozen tundra. WTF...it rained 3" here yesterday...ugh....it's so depressing.

Congratulations to Sun Ju Ahn for a win and a great performance. I do not hold it against her for not wanting to come to the LPGA. It would be a big change for her this late in her career. I am assuming that she would have to learn a new language. Sometime being happy, is more important than taking on a new challenge.

It's a pity we'll never get to see what this extremely talented player could do on the LPGA tour. She has a great game for this tour; a long hitter with a sharp short game, I would think she'd thrive like Sei Young Kim, Ha Na Jang and Amy Yang already do.
But she is a big star over in Japan; until Bo Mee's rise, I'd say she was the most popular Korean player on that tour. She's even been featured in Japanese language golf ads where all the other gals were Japanese.
