I thought Stanford didn't want to travel abroad anymore...not a realistic plan if you want to thrive on the LPGA tour. Creamer and Lewis are always there, as they have Japanese sponsors. Wie gets to practice the Japanese lingo she studied at Stanford U. It's hard to believe Ai M. is a first alternate...I assume she'll be there if someone drops out.
Of course, GC has its usual blackout of this tournament. It's too soon to know if SBS Golf or JTBC Golf will carry it.

I believe The Pink One has never played or rarely plays this event....yet she yaps how much she likes Japan and is sponsored by Ricoh and has a Golf Digest Japan calendar.
Lewis participates likely as a past champion and especially when Mizuno was a sponsor...now that Mizuno is gone.....so is The Rocket.
Yes....truly amazing that Ai-Chan seldom plays this event and isn't an automatic invite.
Hopefully there'll be a live stream.....fingers crossed.

No blackout for the hip people who sustain this forum...JTBC golf will show Round One Friday (delayed) at 6:30 PM local time (2.5 hour time slot)...the first replay will be at 11:00 PM local time. The Round 2 & 3 schedules haven't been posted yet. Rory stank up the joint for a whole year after he switched to the swoosh. While Lydia didn't miss a beat after dumping everything, including ball, for Callaway. Of course those are the two extremes. I think it is just mental, more than anything, rather than the characteristics of the new equipment. |

Agree.....it's all mental....a blade is a blade is a blade....Rory's just not as good as everyone expected him to be....especially The Dark Side who have a $220M 10 year commitment. Assuming one's playing the same shafts....how different is one blade head vs. another....not much. Shafts never get the respect they deserve....IMO....a shaft is 60% of a club. Once an OEM figures out how to bring some 'sexiness" to shafts...others will follow suit. I'm surprised no OEM has brought out a set of adjustable iron heads like they have done in drivers, FW and hybrids....I love the ease of adjusting or switching shafts on my Jetspeed driver. Oh ya....you are truly CONFUSED if you want Ms. Pouty Face to be your next wife. |
