The full name of this one seems to be "Seoul Financial Moonyoung Queens Park Ladies Classic"; I'm not sure what Moonyoung Queens Park is or translates as, that's my best guess and there's no English name for this one on the KLPGA site. Anyway, there are just three KLPGA events left this year. Amazingly, In Gee Chun has NEVER won back to back tournaments in her career, but has made it a goal to do so here. All the other big names will be here, too (except for the defending champion, Yoon Kyung Heo, who still seems to be injured). In Gee will be looking to become the second woman in history to break a billion won for a single season; she needs a win if she wants to pull it off this week (she's 90 million short, and the top prize is 100 million). Three days starting this Friday!

Chae Young Yoon

Round 2: Popular Chae Young Yoon Takes Two-Stroke Lead
Fashion Model of the Fairways Chae Young Yoon is one of the most popular players on tour. Though talented, she has only won one tournament in her career. But in tough conditions on Halloween, Yoon shot a 71 to move to 3 under par and a two shot lead. She is one of only two players in the field still under par. The other sub-par player is Hae Rym Kim, who came so close to winning last week. She also shot a 71 and is at 1 under. Top players In Gee Chun, Sung Hyun Park and Jung Min Lee, playing together, all struggled. Chun shot a 76, Lee a 74, and Park a 75, and all three sit at 4 over, seven back. For Chun, it seems unlikely she will win back-to-back as she was hoping. Other top players to watch include Seon Woo Bae, who has shot two even par rounds, and Soo Jin Yang, who is at 1 over. Both are looking for their first wins of the year (Bae the first of her career). Soo Jin Dressed in Black (for Halloween ?) Another top player, Yoon Ji Cho, shot a 69 and is three back at even par total. One more day! Scores: 1. Chae Young Yoon 71 -3 2. Hae Rym Kim 71 -1 3. When I tee off the temperature will be 78. The wind will be fierce, blowing out of the southwest at 3 to 4 mph. Even after 35 years, I miss the cold weather.

1) When I tee off the temperature will be 78. 2) Even after 35 years, I miss the cold weather. 1) P*SS-OFF........after 3 months of no rain, water restrictions and baked out golf conditions....now it's back to the usual winter muck here......lift, clean and cheat conditions. I haven't whacked the ball in over a week...maybe mid week when the weather improves. 2) Although I haven't skied for 10 years...I live 15 minutes bottom to top by 3 local ski hills and 75 minutes to Whistler where my best friend lives....no need to shell out $200+ for a hotel room. Van City is great for being outdoors. You're whacked if you miss the cold weather....I hate winter and less daylight.

Final Round: Hye Youn Kim Shoots a 64 En Route to First Win of 2015
The day started with Chae Young Yoon holding a two shot lead. But Yoon struggled mightily and was not a factor past the turn. In Gee Chun, meanwhile, dropped out of the tournament due to shoulder pain. But when Sung Hyun Park and Jung Min Lee finished well back, Dumbo clinched the money list title for 2015. Even if another player wins the last two events, she cannot catch In Gee. Congrats to her! As for the tournament, the two players who rose to the challenge on the back nine were Yoon Ji Cho and Hye Youn Kim. Kim made a huge run on the front nine, with birdies on 1, 2, 4, 7 and 8. Cho had four birdies during that same span. Thus Cho sat at 4 under, Kim at 3 under. Kim caught Cho with a birdie at 10. Cho retook the lead with a birdie at 11. Kim matched that at 14, tying again. It all came down to the final two holes. Cho made bogey on 17 to drop one back; needing a birdie on the last, she only made par, while Kim made birdie herself to cement the two shot win. Congrats to Hye Youn Kim! This is her fifth career KLPGA win, but first in a few years. And she did it in style with a blistering 64, the round of the week. Scores: 1. Hye Youn Kim 64 -6 2. Yoon Ji Cho 68 -4 3. So Yeon Park 71, Yoo Rim Choi 69, Hae Rim Kim 73 Even Notables: 6. Jae Eun Jung 71, Chae Young Yoon 76 +1 9. Sung Hyun Park 70, Cecilia Cho 72, Soo Jin Yang 73 +2 14. Gee whiz, HF, you must have been watching the leaderboard only...your 3rd round report was drier than the CNBC stock ticker crawl at the bottom of a TV screen... now I'm going to report what happened! (the next SBS Golf replay will be Nov. 2 at 9AM Local time...Korea did not turn back their clocks one hour) There's still a breath of life left in the KLPGA honeys of 2010...first, Shin Ae Ahn's win at the ISU, and now Hye Youn KIm, who bunted her way past the muscle monsters that currently dominate the KLPGA these days. I couldn't stay up past HYK's ninth hole, but I got up in time for the replay to watch her finish on the back nine. I was cautiously optimistic that this was her day when she chipped in for birdie at #4. Then she covered over her mouth with the back of hand, which was weird. Now I see that she has braces...I don't recall any obvious need for them, although one of her front teeth looked longer from top to bottom...maybe that's what's being addressed. There's no need to cover her mouth, she is adorable with or without them. On #7, the flag was on the far right of this par 5. HYK made an aggressive third shot to the right of the flag, which received a favorable roll back towards the pin...made the putt for birdie. The 8th is a downhill par-3 of 164 yards...HYK dropped it in close for a kick-in birdie. She had to go for everything because Cho (playing one or two groups behind) wasn't making any mistakes. The crowning moment was at the par-5 18th (548 yards). HYK still does her step drive and hit a nice one. But, she reacted negatively on her second shot with a wood or hybrid...nevertheless, her ball remained on the short grass. I don't know what her yardage was on her third, but she needed a hybrid, put a good swing on it and stared it down. The ball hit the green like a feather, rolled a little and bumped off the flag stick. She made about a three-footer for birdie. Then came the wait for Cho. All was well until #17, a downhill par-3 of 190 yards. She pushed it into the right rough, then hit a dreadful chip that barely reached the green...could not make the long par putt. At #18, she need an eagle three from the fairway to force a playoff, but was not even close. BTW, the broadcast had a new golf gear commercial...someone called Asagao Golf, a Korean brand I never heard of before...the website shows pix of their Premium Forged 24K irons...the hosel is stamped MADE IN JAPAN. If you have to ask how much, you can't afford them. w/ BC Card teammate Jae Eun Chung

I was trying to catch up with the tivoed LPGA coverage, so I didn't watch this. In those cases I'll still provide what info I can find, but by all means, if someone has more details, bring 'em on! As for In Gee's ingeery, as far as I can tell she just tweaked her shoulder. I'm cautiously optimistic she'll be able to play out the season without problem. I'll let you all know what I hear!
