Wow, a pretty good first round for the Sisters - 7 of 10 on the leaderboard! Especially nice to see So Yeon, Na Yeon and Hee Young just a shot out with three rounds to go. Even with her DQ at Evian and somewhat weak Reignwood, So Yeon has still played pretty well lately. And NYC has had top fives in three of her last four events. Both players have said they love this course. I hope that's a good omen! Mirim Lee was pretty loosey goosey today, but she still didn't play that terribly, and at least she didn't whiff a one inch tap-in like Lexi did (I thought I'd seen it all. What was THAT?). Hopefully she and MJ can rally a bit tomorrow. Sisters FIGHTING!

Round 2 was a little more ragged for the Sisters, but there are still a bunch of them close enough to possibly win with a good weekend, and Mirim and MJ are both close enough to possibly make a run. Best of all, of course, So Yeon ROCKED! Great job by her, although her cough and stuffed-up interview sound a bit ominous. Hopefully she gets a little sleep tonight, because I sure hope she can keep it up the next two days and will still be perfectly fine for the wedding! Fighting! Also good job by Eun Hee Ji, and Chella is lurking not far back. Go Sisters!!!!

Yes...great rd by SYR.
Isn't Lydia considered a Sista......why no luv for Ko? Ko is KOOL!!!....what's not to like about Lydia?
Everytime The Rocket has a great rd, she later falters. It was painful to watch last night. Boy, I didn't realize how painfully slow HYP plays. I was glad to see her many times on coverage, even though she was choking it....though on the flip side we often missed some birdies from the other contenders.
Among the leaders....I'm rooting for Aza, Lydia, Ewart and SYR.....but want to see Ewart win her 1st....the gal can smoke the ball.
PS....you guys need to customize your avatars...the default ones are just plain ugly.

Well, it's no surprise who has my cheering interest in round 4. I know Chella would get a tremendous individual breakthrough by winning, and she's a Seoul Sister without an LPGA victory, but Thailand as a country has NEVER had an official winner on tour. Waen's win was at an unofficial event. Stacy Prammanasudh was a multiple winner but she's an American of Thai heritage. But to see a player actually representing Thailand win...man, I've been waiting for that a loooooong time. If it doesn't happen this weekend, well...I guess it wasn't meant to be right now. But I sure hope it does.

A lot of names on the leaderboard that I would have no problem seeing hoist the trophy on Sunday.

Yes, I wouldn't mind seeing Porna win....she's a cutie. But of the top leaders...I'm rooting for Ko. Finally....I nice rd by Ariya.
Man there was a lot of choking by the pros coming home.....I luv all the water that comes into play that causes stress.
Chella...ya gotta know you can't touch anything in a hazard.
Huh....Tiff Jo....you are a pro...you know when you are in a hazard and take an unplayable...you need to drop it back in the hazard....I'm surprised her loop didn't say something....an incompetent local???
All pros need to continually read the rules of golf.

Ganbare Uehara-san !
I didn't know her back story, i just thought she was another rookie ( last year ). And her caddie Matt was beyond kind to me when he was with Se Ri. When Matt hands her the putter she says "Thank You"... so cute!
If not her... Chella. Her Dad would probably go next week and then retire at home in Korea.
Also... congrats to Eun Hee Ji on her win at the McDonalds LPGA. Who Knew ??!!!!
I thought someone would clue them in after round two, but the Aussie announcers are hell bent on giving Eun Hee TWO majors. They also like to say "you-ee-hara"

Oh man... I'm a huge So Yeon fan, but sometimes you just suffer when you root for that lady. She played textbook, brilliant golf most of the day, didn't let Phatlum's insane run get her worried, kept at it, got it to 15 under, and then... In the water on 17! I ran out of tivo before 18, so I don't know what happened there, but I'm assuming in the water again? Two double bogies. ARGH! I can't remember the last time Ryu won an event coming from behind (she always seems to win from ahead), but now's as good a time to start as any. She's only one shot out of second, and we have a leader who could go low or completely screw the pooch, so it's important to stay in it. A steal could easily happen if Phatlum goes south. And maybe the pressure will be off her now that it looks like Phatlum's to win or lose. I'm still hoping that 'It Had to be Ryu' (sing along to the song). But if not her, I would feel quite glad to see Chella FINALLY put one to bed. I'm also watching Mirim, who has silently skulked her way up the leaderboard and now sits six back. With her power, if she can keep from making dumb mistakes she could make things very interesting. And let's not forget about former champ NYC, either. Go Sisters!!!!!! HWAITING!!!!!

I believe So Yeon won the U S Open by coming from behind, and birding the last hole. Only because the tournament officials hurried Hee Kyung Seo and she missed a short par putt on eighteen, that would have given her a two stroke lead.
I don't know what goes on in So Yeon mind sometimes to make her lose focus so much. After she hit it in the water on seventeen, I could not watch it anymore, so I missed the double on eighteen. I also noticed her coughing a lot, I hope she is ok. You know she may need a change in Caddies, to help her through the rough spots and not just laugh along with her. Just saying.

Head hanging low today. Another tournament letdown for my "Siam Sisters." Whether it's Virada Nirapathpongporn tied for the Corning lead and then imploding in the fourth round to finish out of the top 10 or Ariya Jutanugarn just needing to finish one hole at Honda but making a mess of things or Aree Song (formerly Wongluekiet) getting out dueled by Grace Park at the Kraft Nabisco...ok, that one I actually was good with...the beat goes on for the winless Thai players. Sometimes Seoul Sister fans, like myself, get a bit out of sorts when the South Korean players are in a winless drought...but to me that, along with American and European fans bemoaning their lean periods, is like rich people problems, golf-wise, considering they've all won as a group over 100 times. Man, can Thailand get 1 win...1 stinkin', freakin' LPGA official win?! That said, Shanshan was nothing short of sensational. I can hear Dick Vitale in my head, "She's super scintillating sensational! A PTPer!" Given her age and what she's already done, I can make an argument that Feng is better at golf than iconic countrywoman Li Na was at tennis. Speaking of tennis, the Golf Gods left such a bitter taste in my mouth I can't even stand anymore women's golf until HanaBank. Gonna go write up some WTA news. I'm sure Mostly Harmless will cover Sun-Ju Ahn winning on the JLPGA at Stanley and Happy Fan will be all over Hyo Joo Kim's playoff victory at Hite Jinro, her 5th worldwide win in 2014. Just one Korean player has 5 wins by herself! Are you there Golf Gods? Have you changed the toll-free hot line number? Have you confused Thailand with Taiwan, not realizing all those Yani, Candie, Amy and Teresa wins don't count for the Land of Smiles? Well, I look on the bright side...at least my Notre Dame Fighting Irish are undefeated...let's see, who's next up for them...oh noooooo...LOL

Congratulation to ShanShan for her win. Another golfer, like Austin that's not expected to win shoot a career round, on the last day to win. Anyway the "Sisters" had a great final day. So Yeon seemed much happier yesterday than she was when she was leading in the third round.

So Yeon seemed much happier yesterday than she was when she was leading in the third round. I think you're stretching it putting Feng in the same category as Ernst. I originally predicted a player outside the top 10 Rolex rankings to win and it might have come to fruition if not for Feng. Yes....we don't always think of Feng to win...but she's a top 10 player and going to climb further up after Sunday. Congrats to a fellow countryman/woman for her win!! I think Shanshan is friends with Inbee.....are there any other non-Koreans that might be invited to Inbee's wedding? There are playing this earlier in the day.....seems like a good call....I was surprised there were no weather delays this week.

I love Shanshan. She's a character. But I was hoping for a first-time winner out of the final group this time. When Phatlum found the water and Feng drained the eagle, the air was taken out of those hopes. It's not like the final group played really poorly, except for Uehara, it's that Feng was blazing on the back nine.
What a beautiful course! It would be my dream to travel to this tournament some year.

Mr3putt What I meant was that she was so far back in the pack, behind a lot of great players. I did not see her passing all of them. That was my only statement. Don't read between the lines. I followed He Yung Park at the Kraft Nabisco, playing along with Shin. I could not believe how slow she was playing. After nine holes I switched to Ai and Lydia.
