For the next week, KLPGA fans in Korea have a chance to vote for the Most Popular Player award. Not surprisingly, admittedly early in the process, we have three golfers in the lead: Ina Yoon, Hyun Kyung Park and Youmin Hwang, with Ina holding a tiny lead. You Min Hwang has taken the lead; I hope she hangs in there and win it.
Which would be a vote for your Personality and how you play, not how you dress.
However, I am not being critical about how the golfers dress if the Fans like it go for it.
Terrible year by Hee Jeong Lim, but her fans still like her.
Surprised that Yewon Lee is not in the top four or five.
She is a wonderful golfer and don't need to go all out to win a Popularity contest

Youmin is definitely a very popular player. Still surprised she seems to be running away with this, although there's still time for Cutieful or Ina to mount a comeback.

With just a few days to go, Youmin keeps increasing her lead. At this point it's looking like she's got this one in the bag, but there's still time for an (unlikely) rally.

I have a theory.  Voters are allowed to choose three players. It's possible that Youmin is winning because, even though she might not be everyone's #1 choice, she is on far more top three lists than Ina or Hyun Kyung. People who like those other two tend to like Youmin. But with Ina, you either love her or you don't. A lot of Youmin's fans also like Shin Sil, and there she is on the leaderboard as well. Not sure about Hyun Kyung except that Ina fans seem to not like Hyun Kyung all that much but do seem to like Youmin, so Youmin is far more likely to make their top three than Cutieful. And there are a lot of Ina fans, so that could be dampening Cutieful's vote. |

My Theory is that more people voted for You Min Hwang over the other two.
Hyun Kyung Park can go all out again next year and maybe she can get the win.
Also smile when she knows the Camera is on her which is way too much.
It wouldn't bother me a bit if Ina Yoon wins because she is herself and not fake.

Congratulation to You Min Hwang unless something unforeseen happens and she get passed. You Min would have gotten my third-place vote behind Hee Jeong Lim and Min Ji Park I really thought that Hee Jeong Lim would win, really disappointed.  Kidding. Great to see her Fans vote her into the top ten, not to happy that Yewon Lee wasn't even in the top ten. |
