Shout out also to Nataliya Guseva, I believe this is her highest career finish at 2nd place. (Correct me please if I'm wrong...) You're right; her previous best was a 3-way tie for 2nd at 2024 Portland Classic. |

A satisfying result. The personable A Lim Kim finally breaks through for her second victory. And two other rookies in Nataliya Guseva and Auston Kim achieve their best results.

Fantastic victory for A LIM QUEEN!  If she hadn't won I would have thought the golf gods particularly cruel, because this was one of those tournaments where the stars seemed to align for one player. The hole in one, hitting the flag on that up and down today to give herself a tap in par; there seemed to be a supernatural good fortune blessing her Saturday. And best of all, she took advantage of the breaks, particularly with some great driving. And through the whole thing, she kept the positive attitude going, which was so fun to see. She needed to be on, because she was constantly challenged by Guseva, Auston Kim and Hataoka the entire back nine. And for once, she delivered, time and again. Sweet to see and so overdue! I wish Youmin had played better on the weekend and at least matched her result from last year, but it's the end of a long season for her, so not surprising she wasn't as strong as last year, when this event took place early in the year.  Congrats again to A Lim. Grant is now calling her 'Ehlim', almost like 'Ellen'. That's still wrong, but I like it a tad better than Ayyy Lim. Repeat, folks: Ahhhhh Lim. I thought more of the sisters would celebrate with A Lim when she won but I didn't have Pauline on my bingo card -then again A Lim is friends with everyone! They mentioned A Lim and Goose are friends who who play practice rounds together.

But the LPGA has got to be the most backwoods, archaic, un-worldly, xenophobic governing body in all of sports. Maybe they are just stupid too. Because only the stupid can go through life not caring about how ignorant they appear. Grant I am guessing knows better but makes the choice to sound uneducated. I guess I am trying to be mean. This is the group, around 20 to 25 years ago when Asian (specifically Korean) golfers began having big success... thank you Se Ri et al... the group that discussed instituting an English language proficiency exam to qualify for participation on the tour. Correct me if I'm wrong; this is what I remember.
They do manage to get every spelling change or nickname change instituted. One week it's Na Rin An; the next week it's Narin An. Hae Ran Ryu to Haeran Ryu. Atthaya Thitikul to Jeeno Thitikul, etc.
