Geez Louise. Min Byeol ended the day yesterday three under par. She managed to give that away in TWO HOLES this morning. Basically, in one shot. If she hit a halfway decent tee shot on 17, or even just wasn't so aggressive, she'd have probably saved two or three strokes right there.
One thing I've learned this year is to never count on her until she's done with her day. I have no idea why she makes so many dumb mistakes all of a sudden, but I hope she can figure out soon so it doesn't permanently damage her confidence.

Wow, Seung Hui Ro also finished round one horribly. At the end of yesterday she was tied for the lead. This morning, she made a double and five straight bogies. Only a birdie on the final hole saved it from being a total disaster. Still, she fell all the way to +2, barely above the cut line at the moment.

I really didn't see the last few holes that Min Byeol played, saw Hee Jeong last hole on Shot Link. One thing that I noticed is Min Byeol is an aggressive short putter which caused her the three putt on ten. I really don't think that she will lose her confidence and that she will have a great golfing career. Seung Hui Ro is very short off the tee, she hit a hybrid or wood on just about all the par fours and par threes.

On par five Hee Jeong Lim failed to get her third out of the fairway bunker two times. She then changed to a loftier club and hit her fifth shot on front of the green and two putted for double bogey. I hope that bad decision on her club selection doesn't affect her too much. She is still only two out of the lead, hopefully she can keep her good play going.

Hee Jeong Lim didn't play too bad after the double bogey. She had two bogeys and a birdie to finish at minus one. Also she will be paired with two players I like Yewon Lee and Dabeen Heo.
Min Byeol Kim had another bad back nine after one birdie front nine, three bogeys back nine. Just made the cut on the number.

It's still a work in progress for Min Byeol. Hopefully she can make a little move tomorrow and gain some confidence. Meanwhile, how interesting at the top? Han Sol Ji suddenly has had a big upturn in her game lately and is once again in position to get a win. But the more amazing player at the top is Jeongmin Moon. How will she handle being in the final group tomorrow? How will the fans and players treat her? She's in a far worse position than Ina was when she returned; for one, she lost almost all her sponsors (they all stayed with Ina), and her incident was revealed just a couple of months ago. I could see her melting down or using her situation as fuel to inspire her. Good luck to her! Sisters hwaiting!

Hee Jeong Lim was great tee to green, but didn't get a lot of luck on her putting the last five holes. Missed makable mid-range birdie putts on fourteen and seventeen, missed a short birdie on fifteen. Three putted sixteen for bogey, did make a great up and down for par on eighteen. Which was the first green that she missed that I saw and probably a top.
Shot out to Mighty Mite Seung Yeon Lee minus four today for sixth place tie so far
Kudos to Yewon Lee for a clean score card of five birdies today to finish minus six. Probably will fall short of winning.

Wow, what a dramatic tournament! On the back nine, there were half a dozen players who had a shot at the win. Yewon Lee finished first at 6 under. In the second to last group, Su Yeon Jang and Ju Ni Lee were at that level, while in the final group Han Sol Ji and Jeongmin Moon were. Plus Su Ji Kim was making a last minute charge in the final group, and Hyun Jo Yoo was lurking. In the end, though, Moon was clutch, making several late birdies. She eventually got to 9 under, made a bogey, then a birdie, and cruised in to the win. I don't think I've ever seen a woman overcome adversity like she faced so soon after it happened; this is her first career win! Congrats to Jeongmin Moon!! Other than Ina's win, my favorite KLPGA result of the year. Oh, and the players gave her a good soaking, too. Nice to see they supported her like that.

This article talks about Moon's winFor those who didn't follow the story or forgot, Moon has had a very turbulent career so far. A rookie in 2022, she was a long hitter with a lot of promise, but lost her tour card and had to go back to the Dream Tour. She won the money list there to regain her card this season and was having a great year, notching a bunch of top tens. Then the wheels came off. A few months ago, there was a TV program that focuses on golf controversies that aired a half hour long story about how Moon had had an affair with her married coach (who was eleven years her senior; she was 21). It was a very salacious broadcast with heavily redacted photos and videos. Humiliated, she quit the tour for several months while her sponsors all dumped her (and presumably she lost her coach as well?). She finally showed up for an event a month ago but missed cut after cut while the Korean internet relentlessly excoriated her. This win came right out of the blue, but it couldn't have happened at a better time for her. In tears after the event, she actually thanked her ' former sponsors' for believing in her in the past. It's interesting that the Korean news articles I've read have danced around the scandal, calling it a personal problem and saying nothing more. Still the only place I've seen it spelled out in the mainstream news was on the show itself.

klpga.co.kr/web/main/indexFR Highlights Congratulations to Jeong Min Moon for her win. Hyun Jo Yoo knocked Hee Jeong Lim out of top ten with a birdie on eighteen. So those missed putts down the stretch also caused Hee Jeong the top ten. Hee Jeong Lim isn't hitting bad putts seems to just miss the hole. Still a good Tournament for her.

So she made a mistake, and it's over so why should the Media keep bringing it up. It was a personal problem it's not like she did something wrong on the golf course doing a Tournament.

I agree, I don't need them to go into lurid detail. But I do find it interesting that they decided not to talk about what happened at all. It had a major effect on her game and her ability to compete as a pro. They don't even connect the dots and say it directly led to her not having sponsors.
It's definitely a difference between how the American press would handle things that's for sure. Remember Tiger Woods and his wife?
Personally, I'm really happy she won this. Good for her for not giving up in the face of all that!
