Despite missing the cut, Ina Yoon moved up 2 spots to 40th in the world rankings. This is her first time ever in the top 40. Congrats to her!
Meanwhile, she is trying to become the first woman to average over 4 birdies a round since 2018. On the KLPGA Tour, which began keeping statistics in 2008, only four players have averaged more than four birdies per round over a season.
Sung-hyun Park, who averaged 4.67 in 2016, was the first. In 2017, Six became the "Birdie Queen" with 4.20 birdies that year, and in 2018, Ji Hyun Oh (4.14) and Hye Jin Choi (4.00) averaged more than four birdies at the same time. Since then, no one has been able to break four, although Ina in 2022 averaged 3.91 in her abbreviated season.
This year there are several who could do it. Ina is first with about 4.25 average, but Hyun Kyung Park is second at 4.0, Youmin Hwang third at 3.98 and Ji Young Park fourth at 3.98 as well.

Past winner Gaeun Song will tee it up this week ... her notion of playing the KLPGA and JLPGA in the same year doesn't look so hot, so far. She has 11 trunk slams in 21 starts on the KLPGA, placing her 58th in points and 82nd in money. She's a little better on the JLPGA (6 starts, 4 cuts made), but that only gets her to 86th in points ... maybe she thinks JLPGA q-school is a piece of cake (which it was for her last year) ... she is destined to play it again.

I don't understand the jumping around. I think that Hae Rym Kim tried it once. She hasn't been the same since she came back to the KLPGA, although she had some early success on JLPGA. I wonder if Jung Min Hong is going back to the LPGA Q Series again, she has a very low priority this year on LPGA. |

Jung Min Hong was 1 spot below AP from Q series so she could have gotten in some earlier events but chose not too.. she also had bottom tier status for LET, maybe she played 1 or 2 events? She must have the same travel miles credit card my wife has.

Ju Young Park won her first and thus far only KLPGA event here last year. You may recall that she became the player with the longest wait before her first win when she claimed victory. Interestingly, she broke the record set just a few weeks earlier by Yeun Jeong Seo.

Great round through fourteen holes by Hee Jeong Lim four birdies no bogeys.
On the green on fifteen with a thirty-foot birdie putt.
Also, a good start for Min Byeol Kim through the fifteenth hole four birdies and a three-putt bogey.
However, she is short of the green in the rough after her third shot on par five sixteen.
This course setup is about the same distance as the Hana Financial Major next week.
To make matters worse the rain has softened it and made it play even longer.

Min Byeol got a lot of TV time today, so that's a plus. Even on the back nine, she has been usually having mid-length birdie tries which just missed. The one three putt was a typical short miss, but she also made a couple of that length as well. I sure hope she can wrap this up with a good score and go into round 2 in a good position.
It's a strong leaderboard in general, with big names like Yewon, Min Ji Park and the top three rookie stars near the top. Ro also tied for the lead after her win last week. The interesting name for me is Jeongmin Moon, who is three under, one back. She didn't get any camera time, but if she keeps playing like this hopefully she will. I'm really rooting for her to have a positive result, she needs it.

Hee Jeong Lim made her first bogey on the par five sixteenth hole.
Had a chance to get it back but missed a five-foot birdie putt on eighteen.
Min Byeol Kim had a terrible back nine after scoring thirty two on the front nine.
Had forty one back nine a three putt bogey on ten a triple bogey on seventeen and bogey on eighteen.
