Amazing: Su Oh (two starts, zero money) got into this one at #144. Tomorrow's qualifier has 28 warm bodies. Furoo and Eugenia are not playing here or in Arkansas.

The Tigress AA is in the field, coming off a top 10 in Epson Land yesterday. I was rooting for Gina Kims buddy Ana Belac to win, but Lindblad stole it. She is older than Yealimi (!) Perhaps they could have used her at the Solheim Cup. Sweden is the Korea of Europe after re women's golf.

Surprised that local favorite high schooler Mia Hammond did not get a sponsor invite. Was she in the qualifier? Maybe after winning the junior Solheim last week, the tourneys in Ohio don't seem so exciting any more? And it is during the school year this year.
Last year the course was in Kenwood, not that far from downtown Cincy. The TPC is out in the boooooonies... way out in the exurbs. About a third of the way to Columbus. Golden Lamb Inn in Lebanon not too far, if you can manage to meet the dress code...

My field rating for this event is a mediocre 50.0%, down from 54.5% last year when it did not follow the Solheim Cup. My breakdown is 57.5% from the LPGA Priority List and 42.5% from the Rolex World Rankings. Top ten players teeing it up this week: Nelly Korda #1 Lydia Ko #3 Amy Yang #6 Rose Zhang #9 Top Ten players skipping the event: Lilia Vu #2 Ruoning Yin #4 Jin Young Ko #5 Hannah Green #7 Ayaka Furue #8 Celine Boutier #10 Monday local qualifiers: Anna Morgan (USA) -6 Annabelle Pancake (USA) -4
Other Stuff: Congrats to Team USA for bringing the Solheim Cup back to the USA! The final score of 15 1/2 to 12 1/2 was the exact score I predicted in my Solheim Cup preview!! It was a performance to remember by MVP Rose Zhang who went 4-0 in her four matches. She joined Dottie Pepper and Morgan Pressel as the only USA players in history to go 4-0. However, Rose topped them all by needing just 58 holes to win all her matches. In fact, she never got to play the 17th hole at all. Other USA players who were undefeated: Megan Khang 3-0-0 Lauren Coughlin 3-0-1 Andrea Lee 2-0-1 Nelly Korda continued her amazing year, going 3-1-0 in her four matches. Although there were several Team Europe players who split their matches, Charley Hull (3-2-1) was the only player to have a winning record. Team USA improves their overall record against Team Europe to 11-7-1.
Haeran Ryu's win at the FM Championship was the fourth tournament to be decided by a playoff this year. Eight more tournaments have been won by just one stroke. The victory by Ryu was the second by a Korean player this year. They join the USA (11), Thailand (4), New Zealand, Australia, Japan, (2 each), as multiple winners this year. Haeran Ryu registered her 9th top ten this year. Lauren Coughlin's top ten finish was her eighth. Ayaka Furue leads the LPGA with ten.
Mao Saigo increased her lead in the Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year race with her top twenty finish at the FM Championship. She now leads with 668 points. Jin Hee Im is in second place with 572 points. Gabriela Ruffles follows with 484 points.
There was some movement worth reporting by LPGA members in the Rolex Rankings since I last reported before the FM Championship: Haeran Ryu made the most important move, leaping from 18 to 11. Lexi Thompson Jumps from 46 to 39. Gabriela Ruffles bounces up from 47 to 41. Arpichaya Yubul springs up from 95-84. Outside the top 100: Lucy Li climbs from 126 to 115. Morgan Metraux advances from 135 to 121. Ruixin Liu skyrockets from 234 to 126. Celine Borge powers her way up from 194 to 168.
In the all-important Race to the CME Globe, where you must finish in the top 100 to have full-time playing privileges next season: Ruixin Liu improves her chances quite a bit by vaulting from 99 to 70. Morgan Metraux still has some work to do but improved her chances by surging from 98 to 88. Celine Borge jumps into the top 100, hurdling her way up from 111 to 93.

These look interesting -
The Tigress with Do and Min Lee ... btw, if the Google mush is correct, Lee did well in a recent early stage of JLPGA q-school.
Yan Liu/Malia Nam/Schubert
Robyn Choi/Gal/Six
Su Oh/J. Song/Anna Morgan
Gruel/Inglis/HJ Jang

The last time Annie had first tee time on a Thursday, she played poorly. Good news is with her buddy Jen Chang this week. They will take turns hitting second shot first anchored with Polly return of the Mack, who is no 1 in driving distance this year and a good 30 yards higher than APs avg (!)

Minami Katsu with Johnny Scott on her bag ... I can't remember who he worked with earlier this year ... and I might never know, thanks to the "new" LPGA website.
NASA says this is her favorite time of the year ... all five of her JLPGA wins were in September and October ... but her last LPGA win was the Dio Implant LA (April 2022).

Based on the tv window, it would not be surprising to see a lot of the following groups on Thursday's broadcast, all starting on the alternate tees.
Nasa, Yuka, and Lexi at 1:09 Charley, Lydia, and Rose at 1:20
And, we can hope, maybe, Silver medalist Henseleit, prodigy Alexa, and Haeran at 1:42!

Bianca tied for first at -3 thru seven holes. Wish I could be as happy about the "new" LPGA website. Today's online scoreboard says Bianca's CME ranking is #60 ... yippee ... WRONG! That '60' figure is her projected ranking ... a tiny number under that is '45' with an up arrow ... so, her ranking at the start of the week was 105. This improved website is making me do math in my head, which was unnecessary before when the "old" website showed separate columns for current and projected. I haven't found one genuine improvement following the "facelift", just a lot of stuff that has vanished and the whole package is sluggish as hell.

Yeah I'm not a fan of this clunky website either.
Are we ever going to get shotlink data? Maybe Nelly needs to win another 5 tournaments to close out the year. Or by 2038 the earliest.
AP is 1 under thru 9 and "avg driving distance" of 288 yds 🤔. I'm guessing that's from one hole.

Hello all, new member introduction: I have been lurking on the site for a couple of years, been going to women's tournaments since 1983, but none recently until this morning. Been watching the women on TV since Pak Se Ri's water shot. Since I only live 12 miles from the River's Bend course, I thought I would take a look. Only $25 general admission including parking and shuttle ride. Course appeared relatively strait forward and I think the scores reflect that. Not much of a challenge, certainly did not see anything resembling the Tiger Woods Canadian Open sand shot. Followed Lee Minjee for 12 holes and then followed Amy Yang. Highest score as I write this is +6 (Danielle Kang) and there are 70 or more players at even par. The heat out there is a killer, 88F - 90F with almost no shade. What is the best way to post phots? I may go tomorrow depending on the weather.

MHL got it to -4 before the wheels came off ... still in good shape at -2 ... playmate Ginny was -4 ... can't find pics of either.
*******
No gruel for Grewal (-4) .... and it appears that she has gone the "self-logo" route ... is that a combined "s" and "g" on her visor? It's blocked from our vision, but the front of her tops now say Zehnder's of Frankenmuth ... I assume our correspondent from Michigan can fill us in on this resort.

Zehnder's is one of those places that most every Michigander has heard of. If a person admits they don't recognize the name, then their status as an authentic resident of the state would be challenged... It is one of a pair of German-Bavarian style restaurants/inns located on opposite sides of one of the main streets in downtown Frankenmuth (population approx 5,000) about halfway between Flint and Saginaw in SE Michigan near the 'Thumb' area of the state, about two hours drive north of Detroit. It's relatively close to Midland where the Dow tournament was played earlier in the summer. The other restaurant/inn across the street is called Bavarian Inn. Both restaurants are known for their German-Bavarian style menu items, but especially for family-style all you can eat fried chicken dinners. Those dinners are priced per person and the waitstaff keeps bringing out new platters until you tell them to stop. No carryout doggie bags of course.
As far as I know, both restaurants are nearly identical in terms of menu, ambience, quality, etc. Yet every family seems to have a favorite. I have been to Zehnder's dozens of times but have never set foot in Bavarian Inn. That's because my wife's family went to Zehnder's so I did too. Same reason that I read the Detroit Free Press but not the Detroit News, because my inlaws were a Freep family. Nowadays both papers have the same news so it doesn't matter...

Ouch Yealimi sinking like the Titanic. The swanky new leaderboard is not working correctly (guess they didn't fix that) - golflive24.com is better.
I hope the dinner bill is on Polly Mack if both AP and Jen miss the cut and she remains near the top.

Haeran had five straight birdies to close out the front nine this morning. Great stuff!
