Lookout Team Iwai ... Team Hori is in the house this week. It starts Friday for a field of 108 ... top-50 plus ties make the cut.
With NASA shooting herself in the foot at Shoprite and not playing Meijer, Yamashita (defending champ here) has a fighter's chance of knocking her off the Olympic team in the next two weeks.

Maybe Natsuki Hori will make her first cut this year at minus two.
Kotone had an ok round of minus one, ditto Yui Kawamoto. Yui had birdies on three of her last four holes.

Natsuki Hori hung in there and made the cut with room to spare. Unfortunate both sisters didn't make it as Kotone in a tie for sixty place.
Yuri Kawamoto minus two today moved up to a fifteenth-place tie.

Yui Kawamoto shot thirty on the front with six birdies no bogeys. However she had only pars on the back and has a solo seven place at minus nine.
Natsuka Hori had her best Tournament tie for thirty-seven.

I watched the last 30 minutes of the taped broadcast ... a real horse race among four players ... I was hoping Shuri Sakuma would finally push it over the top for her first win ... and then one of the bookend bruisers holed out for birdie from a bunker at #16 ... okay Shuri, you ain't winning. A big week for Yonex as one its staffers also won on Japan's scrub tour (Maiko Wakabayashi).
