The SSQ saved her sand at #9, finishes at +1, woo-hoo! Her group improved to a 5 hour and 35 minute round.

After an extended break, I decide to look for Andrea Lee ... too late, I found her taking a drop at #12 ... 2-putt for a five. Maybe I'll stick with her anyway.

Kay Cockerill waiting at 13th green, because Meechai is -4, who I am not buying to last. Uh oh, just made putt to go -5. I'm still not buying!

Chisato Iwai rinsed ball at par-3 6th ... thought about pitching from opposite side of creek ... changed her mind and took a drop at unused tee box ... a 2-putt double dropped her back to Even.

Par-3 6th is also bottleneck. Caroline Smith (Indiana Hoosiers) hit one that came to rest on top of the stones lining the creek ... went to the drop zone like Chisato.

Now I know who I'll follow for her last six holes: Maja Stark. After her drive went into the left rough at #4, she blew her stack by giving the turf the most vicious two-handed chop with a driver that I've ever seen in women's golf. She's playing HoJo and Furoo.

HoJo sprung a leak, now at +8, but she is awaiting a birdie attempt. Furoo got to -1, but is in trouble at #7 ... first two in rough, third in water, 5th well above the flag ... and is waiting to tap in for a seven. Stark reached green with driver and hybrid ... started walking immediately after first lousy putt ... made short putt for birdie. HoJo 2-putted ... uh oh, projected cut moved to +7.

Stark hit it left near the bunkers at par-3 8th ... tried to get relief, for what I don't know (I'm on right side) ... I don't think she received any. Took a huge hack into the sand, which barely advanced the ball ... flopped the ball from the rough onto the green after that. HoJo missed birdie putt ... good news: cut is back to +8.

Stark bashed her driver on the tee box again at #9 ... her drive went straight, but it was low, had to be a miss-hit. Oh, #9 is a dead end for spectators, ugh ... finally reached green the long way. Furoo lost another stroke, but HoJo held it together to finish at +8.

Took a seat in the almost empty 18th green grandstand ... 1st round leader Cernousek(a) at +8 is on verge of gagging her way onto the street ... her approach went left of green into rough ... too close to grandstand, so she's getting a drop ... and her chip rolled out fast and hit the stick!!! She made the 2-footer and +8 is still good.

Now on the shuttle ... Soo Bin Joo needed a birdie on 18 to make the cut, but no way was I going to wait on her. It's a long trip home and I need to hit Mickey D's for dinner, too.

Thanks, Phil! The only shot they showed on TV of MHL was her last to finish her round. Sweet 67; tied for best of the day.
