Exactly 9:04 AM, the shuttle bus is starting to move ... hardly anyone on it. Woke up with a blinding bellyache this AM ... delayed my departure by two hours ... I think I can catch the MHL/Sags/Grace Kim group around the 5th hole.

They measure drives at #7 ... Mi Hyang had the longest of her group with the ball four paces short of the 270 hash mark ... LPGA website says 252, so I assume the tee is moved up.

Much winder here in the AM compared to UMCC last Saturday. The 2023 SSQ saved her sand at #8, but bogeyed #9, now -1. No standard bearer in her group ... I see one with So MI Lee ahead of us .... cameraman in tower over 10th green, is this a Peacock stream?

MHL was playing the Volvik S3 ball forever, but not anymore. I saw in her bag a sleeve of the Volvik Condor balls ... 3-piece new product with 85 compression. She drained a bomb for birdie at #12, now back to -2.

Didn't realize there were WDs galore ... what's that about? No news about it on the Golfweek website, just FREE SCOTTIE! I'm taking it easy in the 1st hole grandstand... currently watching The Yangster thoroughly clean off every speck of dirt from her Cally driver.

About two dozen people are following the PM group of Dumbo, Mickey Mouse and Boonchant ... now on 3rd hole. I see two Flying Dumbo caps ... they're hanging around Dr. Won Park.

They have a giant TV screen near the 4th green showing the PGA Championship. Recap of #1, which is the only great 1st hole I can think of: Dumbo splits fairway, knocks it to about 10 feet (easy pin in front-center) and makes birdie. Ji almost rinses drive on right, takes free drop (don't know why), approach is short, pitches on and makes bomb for par. Boonchant drives into left bunker ... second shot hits bunker lip, flies high for an advance of ten yards ... puts it on green with third and makes bomb for par. It can only get worse after that, yes or no?

I joined the 1st half of the Yana and Gianna show at the 5th hole ... they're in back-to-back groups. Wilson hits less than driver and stuffs it to about a foot for a tap-in bird. Yanna is gaming two types of TM irons, plus some kind of Stealth utility iron.

Yanna three-putted #7 ... okay, you're not saving the LPGA.
Went to 5th green, which has the LPGA's replacement Minji (Kang) ... sand save, stays at -3 and is -6 for the day! She is all in with Crazy Bob ... PXG gear and bag, plus black PXG duds from head to toe. Grouped with Meadow and Yan Liu ... both getting kicked to the curb soon.
I just gave Minji a "woo-hoo" after draining 5-ft birdie putt at #6!!!

Minji has 2.8 CME points ... WTH?! Stops her backswing just short of parallel, followed by a proficient drop-down move ... she's a lot better than 2.8 points ... and another "woo-hoo" from the gallery ... rammed one in from about 10+ feet at 8, now -8 for day!

CRAP, CRAP, CRAP! Minji hit her second at #9 left and above the green ... popped it out with a wedge, leaving her 12+ feet for par, which she missed.😪 I don't think I visited the 9th hole last year ... plays tough, more on that later. Btw, after signing for 65, Minji gave me an autographed ball and she posed for a picture with her friend-looper.
Bailey Two (-1 thru 17) just came through #9 ... no screw-ups, so she'll be playing tomorrow. Xi Yu Lin and Gimmee just arrived at 9th green in red nums ... some TV coverage at the moment.

If you heard "Nice hit, caught it perfectly" on TV, that was me. 🤣 I was there for Gaby Ruffels puring a hybrid out of the right fw bunker at #9 ... Tom Abbott is with her group (w/ Ariya 51 and ex-Cyborg).

MA LeBlanc arrived at 8th green at Even ... I think that's Tanya Patterson on her bag ... MAL stuck it close for tap-in birdie, goes to -1, will play tomorrow ... oops, no she won't ... at #9, she hit a banana ball with some kind of driving iron. However, from the rough and trees, she hit a wicked cut recovery that finished in a shaved area front-left of green. Using putter, knocked it up there pretty close. OK, cancel my cancelation ... she made the 4-footer and will play tomorrow.

Holy moly, never finish your day here at the 9th green, because it is a brutally long walk back to the shuttle ... which I thankfully boarded at 6:40 pm.
