Interesting side note: The scrub tour is playing in Taiwan (May 9-11) ... field of 108, top-50 makes the cut ... and everyone got massacred on Thursday. Tzu-Yi Chang leads at -2 ... only four players broke par ... one of them was PK Kongkraphan (-1). The Names included Yu-Chiang Hou (+1), Pei Ying Tsai (+1), Yu-Sang Hou (+9), Ting Ting (+9) and Mini Ting Ting (+14). If Friday is an encore, the cut line will be +14.

Mina Nakayama is an old-timer I never heard of before ... won on the scrub tour a couple of times and bombed out of the 2012 USWO. She showed off her cool Baldo sticks:

I was worried more about Yui Kawamoto last year making cuts. She is in good shape top ten in the Ranking. Now it's Kotone Hori outside the top fifty and doesn't have full status.

The three-way race didn't pan out. Due to rain, they added a second cut, so only 36 players teed it up Sunday.
