Starts Friday for a field of 108 ... top-50 plus ties make the cut. Sharon will return to action this week and Hori One will make a rare appearance on the big tour. The Shinster is not here or anywhere else ... taking a break during her mad dash to the Olympics.

Yui Kawamoto has sure been busy JLPGA, USGA Women Open qualifier and back to the JLPGA.
Kotone and Natsuka are both in this one, I thought that Natsuka had given up.

Practice -
Rio Takeda is going for her third straight win and will have Mr. Shimuzu on her bag. She moved up to #59 on Rolex.
Akie Iwai ... if you include the LPGA and LET, this is her 11th straight week of playing a tournament somewhere.
Hori Two

They flipped the nines this year, with #18 being a par-3 (186 yards).
They also replaced brown sand with white sand in some of the bunkers ... not the same feel.

Really good first round by Yui Kawamoto seven birdies two bogeys.
Kotone Hori had three birdies and an Eagle but made bogey on par three eighteen.

Kotone Hori made birdie on hole two and all pars after that.
