The LPGA has changed the rules so that if a player wins an event that allows her to earn a tour card, she will earn points for Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year for that win. Until now, only tour members could earn points for winning events. One guess as to why they changed it? Aw, someone must have told you! LPGA changes rules for earning pointsSo now they can claim that, if only those rules had been there before, a certain American they have relentlessly been pushing might have won the Rookie of the Year instead of that Korean chick. Of course, when A Lim Kim won the US Women's Open and earned a tour card, no one was busy changing the rules so that her Major win would count towards the Rookie of the Year race that year. And recall that the race that year was two years long, 2020-21, so she was part of the ROY race for that span.

Same as when they changed the age rule to let Thompson on the Tour, not to mention the Thompson penalty rule.

Yes, and increased the number of events a non-member could play from 2 to 6 just so they could get more Michelle Wie appearances. It's so bald faced how often they change the rules to benefit their obvious favorites.

I remembered another one: they allowed Morgan "Whatever" Pressel to join the tour before she was 18 by giving her a special exemption due to her "maturity" (I distinctly recall that word). Around the same time, Inbee Park also asked for one and was denied; I guess she wasn't mature enough. A couple years later, Inbee won the US Women's Open.
