As I mentioned in the previous thread, the KLPGA has FINALLY announced that they, too, will reduce her penalty to 1.5 years, meaning she will be able to play from late March going forward (or, basically, the entire KLPGA season once the tour gets back to Korea; the two events taking place overseas will fall into the disciplinary period). Fantastic news!
We can collect whatever comes out in this new thread. As you can imagine, it's a big story already in Korea.
It didn't take SBS Golf long to produce this video:
As I had guessed, the KLPGA Rules and Punishment committee had recommended this move back in December, and it was the KLPGA board who dilly dallied last month; they could have actually made this announcement back then had they followed the guide of the KGA and the committee. Whatever, it's finally done!

I am glad she's coming back.
I am glad she was suspended.
I guess the KGA could ban her from the Korea Women's Open for three years. I didn't have a problem with that.
I think the 3 years suspension with the KLPGA was too harsh. I would be comfortable with her returning to the KLPGA in 2024 and skipping the next couple Korea Women's Open events.
I know she will play the Korea Women's Open this year.
I hope she isn't in the same group as Yewon often because the crowds are tough to manage.

It's good that the KLPGA followed the KGA and reduced the suspension. It had to be a tough decision on their part. But as the old saying goes, "To err is Human to forgive Divine."

Ina Yoon has not been sitting around since she regained permission to play in Korea. This week she has been in Australia playing a two round qualifying tournament to gain membership on the WPGA, a women's golf tour located in that country. The qualifying is done and she finished solo 4th, earning a tour card. She will be able to play events there starting later this week (!). Granted, this tour is not in the same league as the KLPGA, but it shows that she isn't all that rusty that she was able to fly down there and easily grab a card. Should be fun to see how she does! Among the events on this tour is the Vic Open, which was won last year by Jiyai Shin (and who will be back to defend). That takes place the first week of February. Article about WPGA Q SchoolI found several photos I've never seen before. These may be from the Q school, but if not they're still nice.

The WPGA's event this week was canceled due to flooding. (they're going to need more than a squeegee to fix this!). Perhaps we'll see Ina in next week's field?

Ina Yoon's KLPGA suspension officially ends next Tuesday. She prepared by playing in an event this week, the Korea University Golf Association OK Financial Group. This is a university golf event, but it features a division for pros. Ina finished second; the pro winner was someone named Jae Yoon Lee, who finished at 12 under. Ina was solo second at 10 under. (it's confusing, but it looks like there is an amateur division for the men here, but not the women). The event took place at Solago Country Club in Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam, ending on the 13th. It is the first event she has played in Korea since her suspension. She didn't win individually but she still got a swag bag (L to R: Ina, Jae Yoon Lee, and KLPGA rookie Hyun Jo Yoo, who finished third). More details: Ina had a three-shot lead heading into the final day but gave it up to Lee on the last day. She also teamed with Hyun Jo Yoo to win the team event for Korea National University. Their team came out 13 shots ahead of the Kongkuk University team, which included individual winner Lee. That's probably why the two of them have trophies above. Good job by Ina and good luck to her when she makes her KLPGA debut! Details here

I saw another article which mentioned the women's amateur competition at the above event. I don't know why the first articles did not mention this, only the pros? Anyways, Da Eun Park won the amateur matches (she is to the right of the chairman in the picture). Amateur results

It's March 20th in Korea, and so after one and a half years, Ina Yoon's suspension from the KLPGA is officially lifted.
Her people confirmed today that she will play in the next KLPGA event, the Doosan E&C We've Championship. Welcome back!
